Our core functions are DevOps, DevSecOps, FinOps, Platform Engineering, SRE and Developer Experience (DevEx). We partner with divisional DevOps/TechOps teams and InfoSec to establish consistent controls and governance across the SDLC, securing developer tools without disrupting the developer experience. We build services and processes that enable DevOps practices company-wide and use DevEx insights to keep our platforms simple, consistent and engineer-friendly. The team is globally distributed.\nThe Impact\nYou will own the reliability, availability, and performance of the developer platform services and self-hosted infrastructure that support engineers across S&P Global. You will lead and mentor a team of DevOps and SRE engineers, and own service levels, patching, upgrades, and vulnerability remediation for infrastructure and tooling. You will define SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs, lead incident management, and report DORA and operational metrics. You will build observability, automation, and disaster recovery capabilities that reduce toil and risk. You will manage vendor relationships, support SLAs, and licensing, and ensure the platform meets change management, audit, and control requirements. Partnering with platform and security leads, divisional DevOps/TechOps teams, and BISOs, you will keep the toolchain stable, secure, and cost-efficient so engineers can deliver without disruption.\nWhat’s in It for You\nDo you want to lead the operations of a developer platform at enterprise scale and make reliability a measurable outcome? You will own the platform’s operational health end to end, working with GitHub Enterprise and Actions (self-hosted runners on VMs and Kubernetes/ARC), AWS (EC2, EKS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch), Terraform, Ansible, Packer, Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus/Grafana, Wiz, Qualys, and ServiceNow. You will apply SRE practices such as SLOs, incident response, capacity planning, and DR testing, and bring in FinOps and cost optimisation to improve efficiency. You will build and grow a team, work with platform and security leaders on high-visibility initiatives tied to company strategy, and engage with vendors and senior stakeholders. We support your growth through innovation projects, training, cloud, Kubernetes, and SRE certifications, and knowledge sharing.\nResponsibilities\nOwn reliability, availability and performance of platform services and self-hosted infrastructure. \nManage the patching, upgrade and vulnerability remediation lifecycle for infrastructure and tooling. \nDefine SLIs/SLOs/SLAs, lead incident management, and report DORA and operational metrics. \nBuild observability, automation and disaster recovery capabilities to reduce toil and risk. \nManage vendor relationships, support SLAs and licensing. \nEnsure compliance with change management, audit and control requirements. \nLead, mentor and grow DevOps/SRE engineers and partner with platform and security leads. \nDesign, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling across GitHub Enterprise Cloud, Azure DevOps (ADO), and GitHub Actions hosted runners to ensure reliable, fast, and secure software delivery. \nAdminister and evolve the source control platform (GitHub Enterprise Cloud), including repository governance, branch policies, access controls, and enterprise-level configurations. \nDrive vulnerability remediation: triage scanner findings (GHAS, SonarQube, Wiz), prioritize by risk, and track SLAs. \nFollow change management processes and maintain CMDB records (ownership, relationships) for auditability. \nDesign and implement self-service workflows and service catalogue items in ServiceNow, enabling automated provisioning of infrastructure, environments, and platform capabilities. \nProvision, secure, and optimize AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, IAM, CloudFormation/CDK) that underpin the developer platform infrastructure. \nCollaborate with engineering, security, and architecture teams to define platform standards, enforce guardrails, and drive continuous improvement across the developer experience. \nProduce clear documentation, runbooks, and enablement material to drive self-service adoption and reduce support burden. \nWhat We’re Looking For\n8+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE or infrastructure engineering, including leading teams. \nStrong experience operating CI/CD platforms and self-hosted build infrastructure at scale. \nDeep AWS, Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code experience. \nProven SRE practices: SLOs, incident response, capacity planning and disaster recovery. \nExperience with patch management, vulnerability remediation and vendor management. \nUnderstanding of compliance and ITIL-aligned change management. \nStrong leadership and communication skills. \nProficiency with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK) and configuration management tools. \nSolid experience with AWS services - compute, networking, storage, IAM, and container orchestration (ECS/EKS). \nFamiliarity with ServiceNow (workflow/catalogue configuration) and data platforms (Databricks or equivalent). \nNice to Have\nExperience leading CI/CD migrations across platforms. \nExperience with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor IDE) and developer agents/MCP integrations. \nHands-on experience building developer productivity metrics and dashboards (DORA, SPACE frameworks). \nExperience with FinOps practices and cloud cost optimisation for platform infrastructure. \nCertifications in AWS (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer) or Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD). \nTechnical Environment\nCI/CD Platform Operations: GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Actions, self-hosted runners (VMs and Kubernetes/ARC)\nCloud: AWS (EC2, EKS, VPC, IAM, S3, Auto Scaling, CloudWatch)\nInfrastructure as Code & Config: Terraform; Ansible/SSM; image build tooling (e.g., Packer)\nObservability: GoogleSecOps, Splunk, Prometheus/Grafana or similar\nVulnerability & Patching: Wiz, Tanium or similar; patch automation\nITSM: ServiceNow (Incident, Change, CMDB) or similar\nReliability Practices: SLIs/SLOs, DORA metrics, incident management, DR testing\nAutomation: Python, Bash\nPreferred Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree or higher in a technology-related field.\nWhat’s In It For You?\nOur Mission: \nAdvancing Essential Intelligence.\nOur People:\nWe're more than 35,000 strong worldwide-so we're able to understand nuances while having a broad perspective.
