This role includes leading and mentoring development team members, driving technical solutions, and ensuring delivery excellence across projects. The developer will be responsible for both new initiatives and ongoing support for critical index applications, spanning the full software development lifecycle.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead the design and development of Java/J2EE applications for SPDJI systems and websites.\n\nProvide technical guidance and support to team members across development, testing, and deployment activities.\n\nDevelop web applications with rich front-end interfaces and integrate with internal/vendor platforms.\n\nConduct system performance tuning and troubleshoot application issues.\n\nInterface with databases using advanced SQL and PL/SQL.\n\nParticipate in code reviews, version control, and enforce best development practices.\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including business users, product owners, and IT stakeholders.\n\nBasic Qualifications\n10+ years of experience in Java development with strong skills in J2EE, JMS, EJB.\n\nProven experience leading software development teams or technical projects.\n\nProficient in advanced SQL and PL/SQL.\n\nExperience with Unix scripting, vulnerability remediation, and application performance tuning.\n\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills.\n\nDesired Skills\nExperience in three or more of the following is preferred:\nAdvanced Python or Scala\n\nCI/CD tools (Jenkins, Ansible, Fortify, DevOps pipelines)\n\nMicroservices and Big Data (Spark, Hadoop/HDFS)\n\nAWS services (EC2, EMR, Lambda, S3, Glue)\n\nQA automation (Cucumber, Selenium, Karate)\n\nPreferred Domain Knowledge\nFinancial data systems: Equity, Commodities, Forex, Futures, and Options.\n\nIndex/Benchmark or Asset Management platform experience.\n\nBasic UI development skills (jQuery, HTML5, CSS) are a plus.\n\nRight to Work Requirements:\nThis role is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States.\nCompensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):\nS&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $140,000 - $170,000.
