We build services and processes that enable DevOps practices across the company and use DevEx insights to keep our platforms simple, consistent, and engineer friendly. The team is globally distributed.\nThe Impact\nYou will build and operate tooling and automation that give engineers a fast, secure and consistent software delivery experience across S&P Global. You will administer and evolve enterprise source control and CI/CD platforms, applying governance and standards as code. Using APIs and webhooks, you will build automation, reusable workflows and integrations to reduce manual effort across the SDLC. You will design internal developer portal capabilities, including service catalogues, templates and self-service workflows, and integrate security, quality and artefact management tools with minimal friction. By automating identity, access and onboarding processes and supporting adoption through documentation, you will improve developer experience and accelerate engineering productivity.\nWhat’s in It for You\nDo you enjoy building platforms that engineers use every day and seeing the productivity gains first-hand? You will work with GitHub Enterprise Cloud, GitHub Actions reusable workflows, Azure DevOps, AWS, Terraform, Backstage, Artifactory/Nexus and SonarQube, using Python, TypeScript/Node.js and Bash. You will help shape our internal developer portal and self-service strategy and develop developer productivity metrics. You will collaborate with security, IT and engineering teams across the company and own solutions from design through production. We support your growth through innovation projects, training, cloud and Kubernetes certifications, and knowledge sharing.\nResponsibilities\nDesign, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling across GitHub Enterprise Cloud, Azure DevOps (ADO), and GitHub Actions hosted runners to ensure reliable, fast, and secure software delivery. \nAdminister and evolve the source control platform (GitHub Enterprise Cloud), including repository governance, branch policies, access controls, and enterprise-level configurations. \nManage the repository lifecycle (creation, ownership, archival) and enforce version control best practices (Conventional Commits, semantic versioning, branching, PR standards). \nDesign and support internal developer portal capabilities such as service catalogues, templates, and self-service workflows. \nBuild and operate cloud-based services and infrastructure that support the developer platform. \nIntegrate security, quality, and artefact management tools into developer workflows with minimal friction. \nAutomate identity, access, and onboarding processes in partnership with security and IT teams. \nOwn and operate AI-assisted development tooling including GitHub Copilot, Cursor IDE, developer agents, and MCP (Model Context Protocol) integrations - driving adoption, measuring productivity impact, and scaling usage across engineering teams. \nProvision, secure, and optimise AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, IAM, CloudFormation/CDK) that underpin the developer platform infrastructure. \nBuild automation frameworks and developer agents that eliminate toil - automating onboarding, environment setup, compliance checks, and repetitive platform operations. \nCollaborate with engineering, security, and architecture teams to define platform standards, enforce guardrails, and drive continuous improvement across the developer experience. \nProduce clear documentation, runbooks, and enablement material to drive self-service adoption and reduce support burden. \nWhat We’re Looking For\n5-8 years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, SRE or infrastructure engineering roles. \nStrong hands-on experience with GitHub Enterprise Cloud (administration, Actions, hosted runners, GHAS) and Azure DevOps. \nDeep expertise in CI/CD pipeline design and automation at enterprise scale. \nStrong understanding of the repository lifecycle and Git best practices (Conventional Commits, semantic versioning, trunk-based/GitFlow, PR workflows). \nProficiency with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK) and configuration management tools. \nSolid experience with AWS services - compute, networking, storage, IAM, and container orchestration (ECS/EKS). \nUnderstanding of CMDB and change management (ITIL-aligned change requests, approvals, audit trails). \nExperience building or extending Internal Developer Portals (Backstage, Port, or similar). \nFamiliarity with ServiceNow (workflow/catalogue configuration) and data platforms (Databricks or equivalent). \nStrong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, TypeScript/Node.js). \nExcellent understanding of Git workflows, branching strategies and developer collaboration practices. \nStrong communication skills with the ability to influence adoption across engineering teams. \nNice to Have\nExperience with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor IDE) and developer agents/MCP integrations. \nHands-on experience building developer productivity metrics and dashboards (DORA, SPACE frameworks). \nContributions to open-source Backstage plugins or IDP ecosystems. \nExperience with FinOps practices and cloud cost optimisation for platform infrastructure. \nFamiliarity with compliance-as-code and policy engines (OPA, Sentinel). \nCertifications in AWS (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer) or Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD). \nTechnical Environment\nDevOps & CI/CD: GitHub Enterprise Cloud, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions & Hosted Runners, SonarQube, JFrog Artifactory\nAI Developer Tooling: GitHub Copilot, Cursor IDE, Developer Agents, MCP Integrations\nInternal Developer Portal: Backstage, Port\nCloud & Infrastructure: AWS (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, IAM, CDK/CloudFormation)\nWorkflow & Data: ServiceNow (Service Catalogue, Change, CMDB), Databricks (Data Lake)\nAutomation: Python, TypeScript/Node.js, Bash, REST/GraphQL APIs, webhooks, SQL databases, Terraform\nPreferred Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree or higher in a technology-related field.\nWhat’s In It For You?\nOur Mission: \nAdvancing Essential Intelligence.\nOur People:\nWe're more than 35,000 strong worldwide-so we're able to understand nuances while having a broad perspective.
