We are seeking applicants for a mid-level Multidisciplinary Systems Engineer to join our Strategic and Military Space Division.\nThe Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking a Multidisciplinary Systems Engineer to support Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) satellite missions. This position is based in Albuquerque, New Mexico on the premises of Kirtland Air Force Base.\nThis engineer will be an integral member of a joint Government and contractor team that operates in a dynamic, energetic, and collaborative environment that emphasizes growth. The successful candidate must be an enthusiastic, driven self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and desire an opportunity to influence and develop SmallSat systems. This is a rich opportunity to rapidly mature your technical/mentoring skills by being involved in every aspect of small satellite design including, documentation, analysis, fabrication, integration, testing, launch, and operations.\nRequired Qualifications:\nMust be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance\nBachelor’s degree in engineering or a related science and 4-10 years of relevant experience or a master’s degree and 2-8 years of relevant experience\nBasic knowledge of multiple fields: mechanical, electrical, thermal, optical, software, controls, astrodynamics, navigation, propulsion, or guidance\nKnowledge of system engineering tools and analysis methods\nProficient computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)\nStrong verbal and written communication skills\nAbility to work effectively both individually and within a team environment\nStrong technical problem-solving and analytical skills\nStrong attention to detail while still having a system-level perspective\nSome travel may be required\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExisting TS/SCI clearance\n4+ years of relevant spacecraft systems engineering or advanced degree(s) in a related field\nIn-depth familiarity with small satellites, systems requirements and subsystems\nExperience with space hardware development and testing\nUnderstanding of space environment\nSalary Range:\n$90,000 -$140,000\nThis range serves as a general guideline and may vary based on factors such as role, level, location, market conditions, and individual qualifications, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
