Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.\nCIVIL ENGINEER, STARBASE DEVELOPMENT (RESIDENTIAL)\nAs a member of the Starbase Development team you will lead the delivery of civil design and engineering projects across residential, commercial, and municipal settings. You will manage projects from conception through construction completion and closeout, coordinating with stakeholders, engineers and construction teams across multiple disciplines to build-out the Starbase campus as the gateway to Mars.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nDevelop and issue drawings, design documentation, and reports for civil projects\nPerform calculations supporting the civil infrastructure design of cut/fill, grading and drainage, stormwater control facilities, water quality and distribution\nOversee the civil aspects of construction in the field, including resolving design and construction conflicts in the field in real time, quality control, testing, and commissioning of systems\nCollaborate on civil design projects with architectural design teams, construction teams, utility operational teams, facilities maintenance groups, and other project stakeholders\nMaintain positive relationships with internal utility stakeholders, authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), contractors and subcontractors\nManage project controls, prepare cost estimates and project schedules; actively drives projects to meet target budgets and timelines\nResolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real time, prioritizing pragmatic, fast-moving solutions\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor's degree in civil engineering or engineering discipline\n2+ years of experience in civil technical design\nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:\nExperience with residential or commercial site development or infrastructure projects (utilities, land platting and subdivision, roadways, amenities)\nExperience with grading and paving plans, cut/fill analyses, hydrological analysis, and stormwater design and management\nExperience with landscaping design\nWorking knowledge of power and network distribution systems, water distribution and wastewater collection systems\nProficiency with AutoCAD software and Civil 3D\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nSelf-motivated and works autonomously and efficiently in a dynamic team environment\nLicensed engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Texas\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:\nThis position is based in Starbase, TX and requires being onsite - remote work not considered\nOccasional travel to support other spaceport development projects (up to 20%)\nValid driver’s license\nMust be available to work extended hours and weekends when needed based on site operational needs; flexibility required\nITAR REQUIREMENTS:\nTo conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
