Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.\nCONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR\nAs a critical member of the Starbase Infrastructure team, you will supervise and lead a group of laborers and contractors to enable the build and activation of infrastructure for a variety of projects.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nOversee the day-to-day site supervision of a fast-paced, high impact construction project including the responsibilities below:\nSupervise a team dedicated to construction site logistics/operations, including work schedules, project progress, and resource allocation\nPlan, implement, and enforce construction site logistics to enable broader project goals and schedule\nManage SpaceX construction assets (trailers, portas, rental equipment, etc.)\nImplement and enforce SpaceX safety policies. Drive the safety culture on the jobsite through contractor and internal partners\nDaily field coordination and conflict resolution for contractors and internal partners\nManage site logistics, including daily deliveries, offloading, inventory, storage, and staging of SpaceX purchased materials\nResponsible for jobsite cleanliness\nCreate, enforce, and iterate on schedules for workers and subcontractors in conjunction with engineering and project management team\nMaintain a daily log for the job site’s operations, reporting to management as necessary\nOversee the procurement and execution of specific construction projects as delegated by the engineering & project management team\nProvide budgetary costs based upon the preliminary scope of the project\nGather proposals from contractors; assign contracts upon receipt of all proposals\nDevelop the final cost and schedule for the sub-project, and implement controls as needed to manage cost, schedule and scope\nCoordinate project implementation and track project status\nCoordinate with end user and facilities team for building operations and maintenance\nSupervise night shift contractors as project work requires\nMake changes in the operation as necessary to best meet construction deadlines, triage issues to engineering & project management team as necessary to ensure schedule and quality are adequate\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:\nHigh school diploma or equivalency certificate\n2+ years of professional experience in engineering, construction management, architecture or facilities management\nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:\nField experience in a technical field or in supervising a multi-discipline team of contractors/laborers\nPrevious experience with project management and scheduling software\nUnderstanding of multiple disciplines such as civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, piping, geotechnical, and surveying\nExperience with project management of construction projects including estimating, cost control, schedule, and contractor management\nExperience reading, reviewing, and approving shop and fabrication drawings\nAbility to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while maintaining a high sense of urgency in a high-paced, challenging work environment\nAbility to work independently and in a team, take initiative, and communicate effectively\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:\nAbility to work at elevated heights (200+ feet)\nPhysical effort with lifting and carrying materials or equipment (up to 25 lbs.)\nTypically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments - heat, cold, rain\nWork performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise\nMust be available to work extended hours and weekends when needed based on site operational needs; flexibility required\nValid driver’s license\nTravel may be required based on specific project tasks\nITAR REQUIREMENTS:\nTo conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
