This entry-level role involves investigating security incidents, conducting vulnerability assessments, and collaborating with various departments to ensure the security of the organization's network and systems. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.\nKey Responsibilities:\nMonitor and analyze security alerts, endpoint detections, and event data to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.\nPerform initial triage, investigation, documentation, and escalation of suspected security incidents in accordance with established procedures.\nUse enterprise cybersecurity tools to investigate detections, review endpoint activity, and support containment and remediation.\nLeverage foundational IT knowledge to troubleshoot and investigate security-related issues.\nAssist with the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of cybersecurity tools and technologies.\nCollaborate with IT and other departments to gather information, coordinate incident response, and improve the security of organizational systems.\nMaintain accurate case notes, incident records, and operational documentation; prepare reports on alerts, incidents, vulnerabilities, and mitigation activities.\nParticipate in security audits, compliance assessments, tabletop exercises, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nMaintain current knowledge of cybersecurity threats, attack techniques, defensive technologies, and SOC processes.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nRequires Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree).\nTypically entry-level 0 - 2 years of experience.\nTwo or more years of experience in IT support, systems administration, network operations.\nCertifications: (1 or more required) Network+, A+, Certified Ethical Hacker, SANS (SysAdmin, Audit, Network and Security) level 100 courses or similar.\nKnowledge of computer networking concepts, protocols, and network security methodologies.\nKnowledge of cybersecurity and privacy principles.\nKnowledge of cyber threats and vulnerabilities.\nKnowledge of audit and logging techniques.\nKnowledge of structure, architectures, designs, and cybersecurity technologies used in modern communication networks.\nKnowledge of common cybersecurity frameworks.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nAbility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance\nExperience working in a security operations center (SOC), security monitoring, incident response, or a similar cybersecurity environment.\nHands-on experience with the enterprise security platforms, including reviewing detections, investigating endpoint activity, and supporting response actions.\nExperience with a security information and event management (SIEM) platform and basic log analysis.\nFamiliarity with endpoint detection and response (EDR), ticketing, and incident tracking tools.\nAdditional certifications such as Security+, CySA+, GSEC, or equivalent.\nUnderstanding of common attack techniques, incident response processes, and cybersecurity frameworks.\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and organizational skills.\nAbility to work effectively independently and as part of a team in a continuously monitored operational environment.\nCompensation :\nPay Range:\n$75,937.00 - $104,434.75\nYour actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.\nElevate Your Career\nAt Sierra Space, we are committed to your personal and professional development.
