This employee will be a member of the IT Networking team, which is responsible for maintaining a stable, reliable, and diverse network. This network supports the design, manufacturing, and launching of rockets, spacecraft, satellites, and human spaceflight. This position will support the campus and data center network, including live data center build environments, using reliable design standards. The ideal candidate will be a great communicator, able to document work in a ticketing system, excel at multi-tasking, resolve issues to prevent failures, and enjoy a fast-paced high-tech environment.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nProcure, configure, and install network hardware: switches, access points, UPS, and PDUs.\nTroubleshoot and resolve network issues.\nPlan and coordinate network outage windows with stakeholders for software updates, hardware refreshes, and general network maintenance.\nPerform wireless surveys to determine coverage gaps and implement solutions.\nConfigure and troubleshoot network access control (NAC) and other security features.\nPerform job walks with customers, vendors, and contractors to gather network requirements and create implementation plans.\nBuild and maintain IDF rooms across campus in accordance with network standards.\nMonitor network health using in-house and third-party tools.\nCreate and update network documentation.\nManage network hardware inventory.\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or other STEM discipline and 3+ years of professional network engineering experience; OR 5+ years of professional network engineering experience and high school diploma or equivalency certificate in lieu of a degree.\nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:\nUnderstanding of the OSI model and network standards.\nCisco Catalyst, Juniper, and Arista data center-class switches.\nCisco wireless LAN controllers or other wireless technologies.\nWave Division Multiplexing and fiber optics.\nDNS, DHCP, SNMP, IP helpers, ARP, CDP, LLDP.\nSwitch port security features.\nNetwork monitoring and automation tools.\nDocumentation and procedural installation.\nLinux/Windows system administration.\nIndustry-standard certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIS, or JNCIP.\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:\nThis role requires you to be onsite.
