Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.\nIT WIRELESS NETWORK ENGINEER\nSpaceX is looking for an experienced wireless network engineer with a background in designing, deploying, and managing wireless networks in an enterprise environment. This employee will be a member of the IT Networking team, which is responsible for managing SpaceX wireless networks. This network supports the design, manufacturing, and launching of rockets, spacecraft, satellites, and human spaceflight. This position will be focused on designing, building, and troubleshooting wireless networks at Starbase, including coverage for campus and live data center build environments, with occasional travel to other sites. The ideal candidate will be a great communicator, able to document work, excel at multi-tasking, and enjoy a fast-paced high-tech environment.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nDesign access point placements for new wireless network deployments.\nWork with the network infrastructure team to ensure access points are deployed in the desired locations and to standard.\nPerform wireless surveys to identify coverage gaps and performance concerns, and implement remediation.\nTroubleshoot wireless issues across a large enterprise deployment.\nSchedule and perform software and hardware updates.\nProcure and manage wireless hardware inventory.\nMonitor wireless network health using in-house and third-party tools.\nCreate and maintain documentation of wireless networks.\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or other STEM discipline and 3+ years of professional network engineering experience; OR 5+ years of professional network engineering experience and high school diploma or equivalency certificate in lieu of a degree.\nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:\nUnderstanding of wireless and RF technologies.\nExperience with CBRS deployments.\nCisco wireless LAN controllers or other wireless technologies.\nCisco DNA Center.\nEkahau wireless products.\nNetwork monitoring tools.\nNetwork documentation.\nLinux/Windows system administration.\nIndustry-standard certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent vendor certifications.\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:\nThis role requires you to be onsite.
