For more information, follow Telesat on X and LinkedIn or visit www.telesat.com\nAs a Senior NMS Software Developer, you will lead the design, development, and evolution of Lightspeed's Network Management and OSS platforms, enabling service fulfillment, assurance, automation, and observability across a carrier-grade LEO satellite network. You will leverage modern software engineering practices, cloud-native technologies, and AI-assisted development tools.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign and develop NMS/OSS applications supporting service fulfillment, assurance, inventory, fault, performance, and configuration management.\nDevelop model-driven management solutions using YANG, NETCONF/RESTCONF, gNMI, gRPC, and related standards.\nBuild network automation, telemetry, monitoring, and workflow orchestration capabilities.\nIntegrate NMS/OSS platforms with network elements, EMS systems, inventory platforms, service orchestration systems, and operational tools.\nLead troubleshooting and root cause analysis of complex software and network issues in large-scale distributed environments.\nDesign and maintain automated test frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native deployment solutions.\nContribute to system architecture, interface definitions, security standards, and CONOPS.\nUtilize AI-assisted development tools and engineering automation solutions to improve productivity, code quality, and delivery velocity.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.\n10+ years of experience developing OSS, NMS, EMS, network automation, or telecommunications management systems.\nExpert-level software development skills with a proven track record delivering large-scale production systems using Go, Python, Java, or similar languages.\nStrong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, APIs, concurrency, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.\nSolid knowledge of NETCONF, RESTCONF, gRPC, YANG, OpenAPI, and API-driven architectures.\nStrong understanding of segment routing, and network telemetry.\nExperience with Kubernetes, containers, cloud-native architectures, DevOps, and CI/CD.\nProven experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, ChatGPT, or equivalent\nIdeal Candidate\nCombines OSS/NMS expertise, carrier-grade networking knowledge, strong software engineering and system design skills, cloud-native development experience, and the ability to leverage AI-assisted development to deliver innovative operational solutions\nThe successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain Reliability Status.\nAt Telesat, we take pride in being an equal opportunity employer that values equality in the workplace.
