SpaceNexus is a space industry intelligence platform run by SpaceNexus LLC that tracks launches, satellites, space stocks, funding rounds, contract awards and news for investors, engineers and analysts. The service, launched in 2026, offers profiles of more than 370 space companies, newsletters, an API, embeddable widgets and a space jobs section that aggregates openings from firms such as Planet and Varda Space Industries. Its job feed therefore lists third-party roles in spacecraft engineering, manufacturing, software, legal and operations rather than positions at SpaceNexus itself.

Why LeoLabs?

At LeoLabs, we’re building the living map of activity in space. Through our proprietary global radar network and AI-enabled analytics platform, we collect millions of measurements each day on more than 25,000 objects in low Earth orbit (LEO). Our radar-powered intelligence helps protect critical assets, characterize activity in orbit, monitor emerging threats, and enable safer and more effective operations for commercial and government missions.

We’re not just building technology-we are redefining global security, safety, and transparency in space. As orbital activity accelerates and the operating environment becomes increasingly complex, LeoLabs is a trusted partner for Space Domain Awareness, Space Traffic Management, satellite operations, and national security missions around the world.

If you're looking to work on mission-critical challenges at the intersection of aerospace, national security, software, data, and AI, your impact starts here. This position is contingent upon final approval, with an anticipated hiring timeline beginning as early as January 2027. We are beginning the search in advance of the anticipated hiring timeline.

LeoLabs is seeking a Software Product Manager to join our Product organization and lead the continued development, commercialization, and growth of our SDA software product , one of LeoLabs’ core software products.

Our SDA software product transforms LeoLabs’ radar data and space-domain information into operational intelligence, analytics, alerts, and mission workflows that help customers understand what is happening in orbit and act with greater speed and confidence.

This role sits at the intersection of customers, market needs, product strategy, engineering, and business objectives. You will be responsible for understanding customer missions and market opportunities, defining where our SDA software product should compete, translating those needs into differentiated product capabilities, and helping turn those capabilities into products customers can adopt and buy.

The ideal candidate is a strong product thinker with both commercial and technical judgment. You should have experience working in the space industry or in a closely related aerospace or national-security environment, be comfortable engaging directly with sophisticated commercial and government customers, and be able to translate complex mission problems into clear product and business direction.

What You’ll Do

Own the product and business strategy for our SDA software product, including product vision, roadmap, market positioning, prioritization, packaging, and execution

Develop a deep understanding of our SDA software product customers, users, missions, workflows, operational challenges, and buying behavior

Work directly with commercial and government customers, operators, analysts, internal stakeholders, and subject-matter experts to identify unmet needs, validate product opportunities, and understand where LeoLabs can create differentiated value

Identify and prioritize market segments, use cases, and customer problems where Our SDA software product can create meaningful mission impact and business growth

Translate customer, mission, and business requirements into clear product requirements, capabilities, user experiences, and prioritized development work

Partner closely with Engineering throughout the product lifecycle, from discovery and definition through development, testing, release, and iteration

Make product investment decisions based on customer value, strategic differentiation, revenue potential, technical feasibility, scalability, and company priorities

Define how our SDA software product capabilities are packaged and positioned so customers can clearly understand what they are buying, why it matters, and how it supports their mission

Partner with Sales, Business Development, Marketing, and Customer Success to support customer engagements, product demonstrations, proposals, strategic pursuits, pilots, and go-to-market activities

Help shape pricing, packaging, and commercial models for our SDA software product offerings in partnership with Product leadership and other business stakeholders

Maintain and communicate a clear product roadmap and ensure alignment across Product, Engineering, Sales, Business Development, Customer Success, Operations, and company leadership

Define and monitor product and business metrics that measure adoption, usage, customer outcomes, time-to-value, retention, expansion, revenue impact, and overall product performance

Lead product launches and internal enablement, ensuring that Sales, Customer Success, and other customer-facing teams can effectively communicate and sell new our SDA software product capabilities

Continuously evaluate competitors, adjacent markets, customer acquisition trends, emerging technologies, and changes in the space and national-security environment to identify new opportunities for our SDA software product

Distinguish between individual customer requests and repeatable market needs, ensuring our SDA software product evolves as a scalable product rather than a collection of one-off solutions

Help establish and improve product management practices as LeoLabs continues to scale its product organization

What We’re Looking For

5+ years of product management experience, preferably with software, data, analytics, enterprise, or other highly technical products

Professional experience working in the space industry, or in a closely related aerospace, defense, or national-security environment, with demonstrated understanding of space missions, customers, operators, or technologies

Demonstrated experience owning products or major product areas from market discovery and product strategy through development, launch, adoption, and iteration

Strong business judgment and the ability to connect product decisions to customer outcomes, competitive differentiation, revenue opportunities, and company strategy

Strong customer orientation and experience engaging directly with customers to uncover needs, validate opportunities, and translate feedback into scalable products

Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical, operational, or customer problems into clear product direction and priorities

Experience working closely with software engineering teams and technical leaders throughout the product development lifecycle

Ability to make informed prioritization decisions across competing customer requests, business opportunities, strategic priorities, and technical constraints

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with engineers, customers, executives, operators, and other technical and non-technical audiences

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to use both quantitative and qualitative information to make product decisions

Ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment where customer needs, technology, and market conditions can evolve quickly

Curiosity and willingness to develop deeper expertise in complex space, technical, and mission domains

Ability to operate with a high degree of ownership and independently drive product decisions while building alignment across multiple organizations

Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally to engage directly with customers, partners, and internal teams. LeoLabs is a global company with customers and users around the world, and this role will require periodic travel to understand customer missions, support key engagements, and represent the product in-market

Preferred Qualifications

Experience building and commercializing products for government, aerospace, defense, intelligence, or other highly technical markets

Direct experience with Space Domain Awareness, Space Situational Awareness, Space Traffic Management, satellite operations, orbital analysis, command and control, or related space missions

Experience working with satellite operators, space mission operators, U.S. government space organizations, allied defense organizations, or commercial space companies

Familiarity with orbital mechanics, tracking data, conjunction assessment, maneuver detection, satellite behaviors, or other space-domain concepts

Experience supporting government acquisition processes, strategic pursuits, proposals, demonstrations, pilots, or customer evaluations

Experience working with data-intensive products, APIs, analytics platforms, event detection, visualization tools, or operational decision-support systems

Experience defining product packaging, pricing, positioning, or go-to-market strategy

Experience working directly with government and commercial customers in complex enterprise sales environments

Technical background or demonstrated experience working closely with highly technical engineering, data science, scientific, or aerospace teams

Experience working in markets where customer requirements may be ambiguous, procurement cycles are complex, and product managers must identify common product needs across multiple customer missions

Active U.S. Government security clearance, or the ability and willingness to obtain and maintain one, is preferred
