As a Construction Foreman on the Starbase Infrastructure team, you will lead a crew of technicians, laborers, and contractors in the field to build, maintain, and improve industrial facilities, utilities, and civil infrastructure across the site. Work may include earthwork, concrete, carpentry, structural steel, mechanical, electrical, piping, plumbing, HVAC, and related site utilities.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nLead day-to-day field work for assigned infrastructure projects, including work assignments, crew productivity, quality, and schedule\nSupervise and instruct technicians, laborers, and subcontractors; set daily priorities and resolve field conflicts\nRead and interpret drawings, specifications, and survey control to lay out work and verify grades, elevations, and dimensions\nPlan and sequence construction activities across a range of trades as assigned (earthwork, concrete, framing, MEP, finishes, and related civil/industrial work)\nCoordinate material deliveries, staging, equipment, and tools so the crew can work without delay\nEstimate labor, materials, and equipment needs for assigned scopes; requisition materials and maintain simple, accurate field records\nEnforce SpaceX safety policies and jobsite cleanliness; stop work for unsafe conditions and ensure incident reporting procedures are followed\nPerform and oversee hands-on construction work as needed\nUse hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment; ensure tools and equipment are maintained and secured at the end of each shift\nCoordinate with engineering, project management, and adjacent trades to keep work aligned with broader site goals\nMaintain a daily log of crew activities, progress, issues, and manpower; report status to supervision as required\nAdjust crew size, sequence, and methods as needed to meet deadlines and quality standards; escalate issues that affect cost, schedule, or design\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:\nHigh school diploma or equivalency certificate \n2+ years of experience as a foreman or crew lead\nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:\nExperience leading crews in a general construction or multi-trade environment\nFamiliarity with common construction trades such as earthwork, concrete, carpentry, mechanical, electrical, piping, and site utilities\nKnowledge of standard methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in industrial and civil construction\nAbility to interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications, and to make field calculations for areas, volumes, and material quantities\nAbility to instruct and direct skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled workers\nKnowledge of occupational hazards and safety practices applicable to construction work\nExperience in a fast-paced construction environment with changing priorities\nWritten and verbal communication skills; use of MS Outlook and Teams\nExperience with heavy equipment, forklifts, boom lifts, and/or scissor lifts\nAbility to offer field feedback to the design team to improve cost, quality, and constructibility\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:\nWork hours depend on site priorities and may require extended hours, weekends, and holidays; flexibility required\nPeriodic work in extreme outdoor environments: heat, cold, wind, rain\nMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted\nBasic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform regular manual labor\nMust be able to stand for long periods of time; work at heights, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required\nAbility to work in confined spaces as required by the work\nMust have a valid driver’s license\nITAR REQUIREMENTS:\nTo conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
