Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.\nCONSTRUCTION TECHNICIAN - TEMPORARY\nStarbase is expanding its site infrastructure to support ongoing operations and growth. We are seeking technicians to help build, maintain, and improve industrial facilities, utilities, and civil infrastructure across the site.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nFrame walls, floors, stairs, platforms, concrete forms, and other industrial structures\nConstruct and support various MEP projects\nUse equipment to perform earthwork, demolition, site clearing, and cleanup\nUse hand and measurement tools and manual equipment (saws, squares, shovels, etc.)\nSupport site civil and outdoor infrastructure projects\nLayout, installation, repair, finishing, and maintenance of structures, fixtures, and buildings\nBasic concrete work and repair on slabs, pads, curbs, and site walkways\nOperate forklifts, boom lifts, and other heavy equipment\nAdhere to proper safety guidelines at all times\nKeep tools, materials, and equipment in working condition\nAdvise in the selection of building materials; requisition building materials and supplies\nTransport various heavy materials in vehicles\nPOSITION DETAILS:\nThis is a temporary position with SpaceX, for the length of time as stated, and is subject to change with minimal notice as business needs dictate.\nLENGTH OF POSITION: 3 months\nLOCATION: Starbase, TX\nSHIFT: Must be available for all shifts (day shift, 6 AM - 6 PM or night shift, 6 PM - 6 AM), overtime and weekends as the schedule varies depending on site operational needs; flexibility is required\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:\nHigh school diploma or equivalency certificate\n1+ years of commercial, industrial, or civil construction experience or certificate of completion from an accredited technical program within the last 2 years\nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:\nExperience in many construction environments\nBasic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R), concrete, framing, and industrial gas trade systems\nKnowledge of basic math, engineering, and construction principles and methods\nAbility to read, understand, and follow detailed schematics, drawings/blueprints, and instructions\nAbility to offer feedback to the design team to improve cost, quality, and constructability\nWritten and verbal communication skills; use of MS Outlook and Teams\nExperience in a fast-paced construction environment\nSelf-motivated and works well with others\nSafety training and use of forklifts, scissor lifts, and heavy equipment\nExperience with mechanical systems, carpentry, concrete, welding, earthwork, and conduits\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:\nWork hours depend on site priorities and may require extended hours, weekends, and holidays; flexibility required\nPeriodic work in extreme outdoor environments: heat, cold, wind, rain\nMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted\nBasic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform regular manual labor\nMust be able to stand for long periods of time; work at heights, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required\nMust have a valid driver’s license\nITAR REQUIREMENTS:\nTo conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
