Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.\nDATA & CONTROL SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN (STARSHIP LAUNCH HARDWARE) - LEVEL 4/5\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nInstall and terminate wiring to pad instrumentation and data acquisition systems\nInstall connectors, connector pins, terminals and lugs\nPerform continuity checks, locate and correct wiring errors using measuring instruments such as ohmmeters and voltage calibrators\nPerform work in support of fellow technicians and engineering employees using shop assembly equipment and hand tools\nCollaborate with design engineers to troubleshoot failures and issues derived from test data\nWrite, create and organize work planning documents and instructions\nGenerate purchase orders from vendor quotes\nLead complex and mentally taxing projects with little to no oversight\nInstall and modify electrical conveyances, including but not limited to conduit and cable tray\nInstall cable and cable assemblies\nBuild intricate and complex cable assemblies using Mil-C connectors and contacts\nTroubleshoot AC power distribution equipment up to 480VAC\nBuild and terminate AC power equipment up to 480VAC\nBuild, terminate, troubleshoot and maintain PLC based manufacturing hardware\nFabricate support structures, enclosures and conveyances for electrical distribution equipment\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:\nHigh school diploma or equivalency certificate\n5+ years of professional experience working with industrial controls or instrumentation in a manufacturing or production environment\nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:\nAssociate degree in aerospace technology or another technical field\n2+ years of professional, hands-on experience working with launch site instrumentation\nExperience with ISO 9000, IPC-620, and ICP-610 standards\nQuality inspection experience with harnessing and cables\nUnderstanding of basic direct current electrical theory\nExperience helping to develop and document procedures\nBasic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)\nAbility to design and fabricate simple electrical circuits\nPLC and DAQ programming experience\nExperience with NI Max, Step 7, Studio 5000\nProficient with use of power tools (e.g. hand drills, grinders, band saws, vacuums, and impact drivers)\nProficient with use of hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, screw drivers, brooms, flush cuts, and wrenches)\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:\nAbility to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral\nAbility to work the following shift: \nMonday - Friday 6:00am - 4:30pm\nAbility to work nights & weekends when needed to meet critical launch milestones\nAbility to lift heavy objects (up to 25 lbs.) unassisted\nAbility to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body, working in cramped positions in small openings and climbing hand over hand\nAbility to work at elevated heights (up to 100 feet)\nTypically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments - heat, cold, rain\nWork performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise\nTravel to other sites may be required, up to 15% of the time\nITAR REQUIREMENTS:\nTo conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
