The Starlink team is seeking out the best-in-class professionals to maximize Starlink’s potential for communities and businesses around the globe.\nAs an Electrical Engineer on this team, you will work with a group of elite engineers and specialists across multiple disciplines to design, build, and activate infrastructure that will enable SpaceX to achieve its long-term mission. This team is responsible for the delivery of large capital projects to various internal customer groups across the company. This position is based out of the Bastrop, Texas.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nCollaborate and grow with a multi-disciplinary infrastructure project team by performing power-specific engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities for a variety of critical and fast-paced company projects\nDevelop and issue drawings, design documentation, and reports for manufacturing, industrial, and commercial type projects\nWrite, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines through contract close-out\nCoordinate with electrical utility provider for design/engineering to ensure reliable power service to critical site infrastructure\nInteract with engineers, contractors, fabricators, and project stakeholders\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology\n3+ years of professional experience with the design and/or build of commercial or industrial power systems\nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:\n5+ years of years of professional experience in a similar role with electrical and power distribution systems (<600Vac)\nProfessional Engineering (PE) license\nWorking knowledge of delta/wye transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, building lighting, building construction specifications, and facility grounding\nExperience with critical power infrastructure including UPS systems, backup generators, and automatic transfer switches\nExperience creating and implementing process/design solutions with minimal impact on business operations\nAutoCAD/Revit - beginner to intermediate skill level\nFamiliarity with the National Electric Code, National Fire Protection Association, and International Building Code\nAbility to read and understand power and control schematics and technical equipment operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals\nExperience with variable frequency drives (VFDs), industrial pumps, MODBUS communication, medium-voltage distribution and control panel design and production\nAbility to quickly assess an issue and assist technicians with troubleshooting and repair\nWorking knowledge of power coordination and arc flash \n ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:\nPhysical ability to perform hands-on work in various environments, including heat, cold, rain, and tight quarters\nAbility to work onsite at our Bastrop, TX facility (Remote work not considered)\nAbility to work extended hours and weekends as needed\nAbility to travel as needed\nValid driver's license\nAbility to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted\nITAR REQUIREMENTS:\nTo conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
