The Fleet Maintenance Technician will perform repairs and preventive maintenance on a diverse range of equipment, including automotive assets (electric, gas, and diesel), heavy transit vehicles, small engines, various industrial equipment, and trailers. This role ensures equipment reliability and operational readiness to support the fast-paced demands of our business.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nPerform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance to maximize fleet uptime\nRespond to vehicle breakdowns, equipment failures, and roadside issues, including after-hours support as needed\nAssist with new vehicle and equipment setup, including inspections, documentation, accessories, decals, and preparation for field use\nDetermine whether repairs can be completed in-house or require a dealer, specialty shop, or other vendor\nCoordinate with third-party repair facilities, dealerships, parts suppliers, towing companies, and other fleet vendors\nDocument vehicle issues, findings, and repairs clearly in the work order\nIdentify and correct conditions that may result in a vehicle being placed out of service\nMaintain a clean, organized, and safe shop and work area\nEvaluate fleet utilization and assist with asset allocation\nComplete other related duties as assigned\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\n3+ years of experience in automotive, diesel, or heavy equipment maintenance\nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:\nMaster Automobile Technician certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE)\nExperience across multiple platforms (light-duty, diesel, heavy equipment, and industrial assets)\nEnvironmental Protection Agency (EPA) Section 609 certification (refrigerant handling)\nExperience maintaining electric vehicles and knowledge of high-voltage repair practices\nExperience with Department of Transportation (DOT) / Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) inspection and out-of-service criteria\nAutomotive glass/glazing experience\nActive Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)\nExperience with advanced diagnostic practices and tools\nExperience with fleet management or Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) work-order systems\nWorking knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems\nAbility to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics\nDetail-oriented, organized, and able to demonstrate a high sense of urgency\nExcellent communication skills\nAbility to accurately diagnose electrical issues with a digital volt-ohm meter (DVOM)\nProficient with standard computer applications such as Outlook, Excel, and Word\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:\nAbility to pass Air Force background checks for Cape Canaveral\nMust have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and the ability to maintain both\nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted\nAbility to work at elevated heights\nAbility to work in extreme outdoor environments (heat, cold, rain, etc.)\nITAR REQUIREMENTS:\nTo conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
