Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.\nFULL STACK SOFTWARE ENGINEER (COMPONENTS)\nThe Components Engineering Team develops the world’s best flight hardware and fabricates it at an in-house machine shop for Starship. The team is making a next generation machine shop with advanced software and automation, an alien dreadnought machine that builds the machine. As a software engineer, you will design novel software solutions such as web applications for efficient factory operation, algorithms and AI to automatically create CNC programs, control and deployment of CNC machines, and much more. These improvements will enable rapid Starship production rates of 100+ per year as well as a quick development cycle, which are critical for SpaceX’s Moon and Mars missions. Previous manufacturing experience is not necessary, just the desire to make high-quality software to rapidly build Starships. \nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nDevelop highly reliable software solutions that are used across many SpaceX teams\nOwn all aspects of software development, including design, testing, and deployment\nRapidly create new applications that improve the production cycle time in the machine shop and the time to go from CAD to part in hand\nDeep dive into your users’ problems to find and create efficient solutions\nBring your voice to the table in team collaborations on architecture, design, and code reviews\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, physics or other engineering discipline; OR 2+ years of professional experience building software in lieu of a degree\nExperience in full stack development\nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:\nDeveloped, debugged, and deployed software that has been used in real world applications and projects\nExcellent communication skills both written and verbal\nThorough knowledge of computer architecture and networks\nKnowledge of AI tools and how to best solve problems using AI solutions\nCreative approach to problem solving, exceptional analytical skills and engineering fundamentals\nProgramming experience in Python, JavaScript, C#, .NET, Java, or similar object-oriented language\nFront-end experience in Angular, React, or similar JavaScript framework\nExperience with web-technologies such as nginx, haproxy, redis\nExperience with build systems like Make and package management tools such as pip, npm, nuget\nExperience with UNIX-like operating systems and tools like Terraform, Ansible, Puppet for managing them\nProduction experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container and deployment tools\nDatabase experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar database technologies\nCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:\nPay Range:\nLevel 1: $125,000.00 - $160,000.00\nLevel 2: $145,000.00 - $195,000.00\nYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.\nBase salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
