Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.\nINVENTORY CONTROL CLERK\nThe inventory control clerk plays an important role in our operations and directly affects the supply chain at our Rocket Development Facility in Texas. Located on a 4,500-acre site in central Texas, the Rocket Development Facility is responsible for testing hardware from development stages through acceptance for flight, and from component level to complete stage testing. This position will help ensure that incoming materials are received correctly, the onsite inventory is accurate, and our technicians and engineers have what they need to achieve our overall mission of sending humans to Mars.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nReceive, stock, and issue a wide variety of parts, materials, and hardware to support site operations manually or by using the vertical lift module (VLM)\nStore parts and materials in bins, drawers, and racks while identifying parts and their storage locations\nPick and prepare necessary kits of parts, materials, and hardware as required while ensuring all parts are available and accounted for in the kit\nMaintain strict material handling practices according to established procedures\nMonitor shelf-life storage and maintain proper rotation of stock\nRecord transactions in company computer systems according to procedures\nPerform routine cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy\nPerform good housekeeping, safety, and 5S practices in the area\nSupport organization goals, metrics, and objectives\nComplete the daily activity sheet\nAssemble wooden or cardboard containers or select preassembled containers\nRoute items to appropriate departments\nMay operate a forklift or hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from the shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area\nFind new ways, site-wide, to streamline processes\nCommunicate with internal customers and suppliers to resolve inspection discrepancies\nUse the electronic material requirements planning (MRP) system to route parts and components to the proper departments\nPerform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure an efficient and effective work environment\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:\nHigh school diploma or equivalency certificate\n1+ years of experience in inventory control, warehousing, or supply chain position with receiving, precision, mechanical, or metrological inspection experience\nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:\nExperience in a large manufacturing facility\n2+ years of forklift operations experience\nKnowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and functions\nExperience within the aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or electronic fields\nExperience detecting design and drawing flaws\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications using the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Y14.5\nExperience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and use of metrology tools and gauges\nProficient with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint\nAbility to work effectively in a team environment\nDemonstrated ability to jump into ill-defined problems or processes and drive positive outcomes\nSelf-starter attitude, energy, and the ability to communicate effectively across many cross-functional disciplines\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:\nMust be available for overtime and weekends as the schedule varies depending on site operational needs; flexibility is required\nTypically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments such as heat, cold, and rain\nRequires physical effort, including standing, lifting, and carrying light to moderately heavy materials or equipment\nMust be able to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted\nValid driver’s license\nTravel up to 20% of the time may be required\nITAR REQUIREMENTS:\nTo conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
