Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.\nLEAD OPERATIONS ENGINEER\nThe Lead Operations Engineer supports SpaceX's business operations team by providing company level support for the environmental health and safety department systems and tools. They lead the operations engineers that support the various systems and resources that assist the EHS team and organization. \nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nDevelop and implement dashboards and tools as needed for the environmental health and safety department.\nAnalyze data related to environmental monitoring, incident reports, and safety performance to identify opportunities for data visualization.\nCollaborate with teams across all sites to solicit feedback on developed systems.\nProvide training sessions and educational materials to employees on awareness of proper usage of safety applications and visualization platforms.\nCollaborate with application software teams and/or contractors to create application improvements and manage software development projects to completion.\nProduce specific metric reports upon request.\nIdentify operational challenges within the organization, lead problem formulation, determine root cause, and implement creative and effective solutions.\nCommunicate effectively with different levels of the organization, including everything from layout reviews with engineers to presentations with leadership.\nLead the operations engineers who run these systems. Set their priorities and review their work.\nStaff the team with the hiring manager, including requisitions, interviews, and leveling for operations engineers.\nClear blockers and ensure redundancy across the team for consistent department and organization support.\nManage projects and relationships with software team partners.\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS: \nBachelor’s Degree.\n5+ years of experience in data analytics, environmental health and safety project management, and/or environmental health and safety coordination.\nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:\nAttention to detail and commitment to quality.\nProficiency with MS office, SQL databases, Excel and PowerPoint and Power BI.\nAbility to multi-task, to manage shifting priorities, and to follow through on projects with minimal supervision.\nDemonstrate innovative and futuristic thinking to drive continuous improvement.\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:\nMust be willing to travel regularly to U.S. SpaceX sites.\nMust be able to work extended hours and weekends for incidents, audits, and system cutovers.\nMust be able to walk manufacturing and industrial areas using required controls.\nMust be able to obtain and maintain any required site or government access.\nCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:\nPay Range:\n$135,000.00 - $215,000.00\nYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.\nBase salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
