Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.\nMANAGER, MEP ENGINEERING\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nAssemble and lead a multi-discipline team of MEP engineers, designers, technicians, consultants, and contractors throughout the full design-build lifecycle, including engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.\nOutcome owner for safety, cost, schedule, quality, and technical performance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.\nWork with internal operations and stakeholder teams to define overall scope and specific MEP requirements.\nOwn basis of design, calculations, specifications, and drawing packages from concept through issued-for-construction and as-built.\nManage the design, development, and issuance of drawings, documentation, and reports across HVAC, process mechanical, hydronics, electrical power distribution, lighting, grounding, plumbing, and building/process controls.\nResponsible for planning, coordinating, and executing MEP construction and startup, including testing, commissioning, and turnover to operations.\nWrite, negotiate, and manage design and construction contracts with consultants and subcontractors across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and controls.\nAccountable for budgeting, scheduling, and general project controls for MEP scope.\nMentor team members in technical design, contract management, and project management.\nResolve design and construction conflicts in the field, including constructability, trade coordination, RFIs, and change management.\nReport design and project status to stakeholders.\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or other engineering discipline.\n5+ years of professional experience in mechanical, electrical, or MEP engineering.\n2+ years of experience in a leadership position.\nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:\nDemonstrated complete project ownership in a field/hands-on type role.\nIntegrated project delivery experience, including design, procurement, and construction.\nProven track record of successful results with fast-tracked industrial facility and infrastructure projects.\n2+ years leading engineers, designers, or contractors.\nExperience designing and delivering HVAC, hydronic, plumbing, and electrical distribution systems for industrial or mission-critical facilities.\nAdvanced competency with project control tasks including critical path scheduling, cost estimation and contingency/risk classification, and thorough cost analysis skills.\nAdvanced knowledge of construction contracting and procurement means and methods.\nWorking knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including NEC, IMC, IPC, ASHRAE, and NFPA.\nProficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit; experience with load calculations, short-circuit/coordination/arc-flash studies, and duct/pipe design tools.\nExperience with building management systems, controls, and commissioning of MEP systems.\nExperience managing engineers, designers, and external A/E firms.\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:\nAbility to work in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise.\nMust be available to work extended hours and weekends when needed based on site operational needs.\nDemonstrated ability to work independently.\nOccasional travel may be required based on specific project tasks.\nValid driver’s license.\nITAR REQUIREMENTS:\nTo conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
