Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.\nMATERIAL FLOW TECHNICIAN - 1ST SHIFT\nMaterial Flow Technicians are focused on setting up physical processes and system configuration to support new production cell and materials layouts, as well as continuous improvement. They are skilled with understanding material flow principles including lineside presentation setup, dense storage solutions, efficient carts and racks for material movement and packaging standards.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nSet up new material flow processes and part presentation for new build cells according to general material flow standards and engineering designs, including both physical infrastructure and system configuration\nStay focused on the efficient implementation of material flow engineering designs; be skilled at all the tasks relevant to setting up material flow processes including layout implementation, racking and floor location setup, part labeling, building carts for material movement, slotting small parts into gravity flow racking to drive operator efficiency\nOwn small part flow setup including locations, space efficient packaging, and min/max consistent with overall supply chain strategy\nProvide input into packaging and part flow designs that maximize part density and efficient handling while maintaining part quality\nIdentify opportunities for process improvement within materials management\nSupport project management for new process and cell implementation by providing input into the timeline, helping create a bill of materials for the project and managing the effective storage and delivery of project materials\nBe prepared to provide surge support to the Materials Management operations teams as needed across the full range of skills including receiving, put away, picking, shipping and lineside (Production Coordinator) support\nEnsure high level of inventory accuracy for all production material by completing timely transactions and cycle counting as needed to identify gaps\nMaintain the tools needed for process improvement including mobile equipment, hand tools and any other miscellaneous supplies\nEnsure a complete disposition of any obsolete or orphaned material because of the new process or cell implementation\nMaintain current certifications on all relevant Materials Management equipment and processes needed for the role\nProvide input to leaders and engineers on potential safety hazards when setting up new processes and locations\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:\nHigh school diploma or equivalency certificate\n1+ years of experience supporting process or operational improvement in an industrial environment\nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:\nStrong computer skills, familiar with the full suite of MS Office products\nExperience using basic industrial tools including hand tools (screw drivers, wrenches, hammers, tape measure) and power tools (drills, cutting tools, grinding tools)\nExperience in aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or electronic manufacturing environments\nAble to read and understand CAD drawings\nSQL and Tableau experience\nKnowledge of MRP/ERP systems\nAPICS or other supply chain certification\nBachelor’s degree\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:\nAbility to work 1st shift hours (6 AM to 4:30PM), overtime, and weekends as needed; schedule varies depending on site operational needs, so flexibility is required\nAbility to stand for extended periods - 8+ hours\nBe able to be in repetitive operations:Stand - up to 6 hours per day \nSit - up to 3 hours per day\nPush/pull - up to 75 lbs. (unassisted) 2+ hours per day \nOverhead reach - up to 1 hour per day \nWalk - up to 6 hours per day \nLift/carry - up to 50 lbs. (unassisted) for 2+ hours per day \nClimb (ladder/stairs) - up to 1 hour per day \nKneel/crouch - up to 1 hour per day \nUpper body twist - up to 6 hours per day \n\nAbility to work in temperatures over 80 degrees: 30 minutes or less per day \nCandidate must be capable of safely working at heights (up to 500 ft), in confined spaces, and using an air purifying respirator\nCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:\nPay Range:\nLevel 1: $22.00 - $27.00\nLevel 2: $27.00 - $33.00\nLevel 3: $33.00 - $40.00\nYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.\nBase salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
