Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.\nPASTRY CHEF \nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nManage cost controls and control expenditures of all bakery and pastry production equipment, food, and curated goods\nCreate pricing schedules for all bakery needs with all correlating outlets\nSource high quality ingredients with a focus on local, sustainable, and organic items\nPlan and create all menus with an emphasis on seasonal items and creative menu choices\nPurchase and manage inventory\nEnforce food quality\nHold staff meetings for food safety, quality issues, and innovations\nEnsure safety of physical kitchen and café space\nMeet production schedule needs for all in house products and catered events\nCreate a pleasant and fun environment for SpaceX employees to meet and share a meal\nBuild a structure to deliver in-house catering and support company and special events\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:\nHigh school diploma or equivalency certificate\n3+ years of professional experience as a bakery or pastry chef and in culinary management\nValid driver's license\nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:\nDegree in culinary arts \nHigh volume production and/or catering experience \nProven ability to create innovative menus on a daily basis\nAbility to perform under pressure\nExcellent communication skills\nPossess a creative spirit and ability to make the culinary experience part of the SpaceX culture\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:\nMust be willing to travel to various SpaceX locations for mission critical projects\nValid state issued driver's license\nMust be able to work all shifts and available for overtime, weekends and holiday(s) as needed\nITAR REQUIREMENTS:\nTo conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
