Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.\nPHYSICAL SECURITY SYSTEMS SPECIALIST\nThe Physical Security Systems Specialist gets to assemble, troubleshoot, repair, and perform regular maintenance and work on security system infrastructure and security video management system. This role will work in multiple environments and facilities that support the overall goals of SpaceX. While working to ensure the highest added value to the security posture, these specialists work tightly alongside other security staff and internal/external stakeholders. Along with installation, service, and maintenance, these specialists will assist in developing use procedures and in training system users.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nInstall security technology solutions, including access control, closed circuit televisions (CCTV), and other platforms\nMaintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and instrumentation as needed\nEnsure maintenance on installed systems and hardware is performed and tracked\nAssist in job walks and in determining needs for new installations and redesigns\nFabricate, repair, and assemble hardware/equipment needed for security technology operations\nCollaborate with all staff members in the development and use of proper procedures in support of security technology use by Physical Technology\nEnsure all components and materials are clean and serviceable\nObtain and maintain licenses, operator permits, or certifications as required\nMonitor and maintain a reasonable inventory of replacement hardware, general use materials, and tools\nAcquire proper inventory parts and equipment needed for repair or replacement defective components\nProcess work orders and support (Facilities, Information Technology, etc.) tickets\nAssist in vendor scheduling, installation, and subcontracting activities on large and complex facility security system infrastructure\nMaintain documentation of job status, job change revisions, material flow and other project records\nPerform a variety of related duties in support of Physical Security, as needed\nDevelop novel ways to streamline processes and increase the reliability of security technology\nWork with Lenel and Avigilon system administrators to manage access control and CCTV systems at the regional and global level as needed\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:\nHigh school diploma or equivalency certificate \nExperience working with security systems, such as CCTV, access control, intrusion detection systems, or other comparable systems, such as fire and alarm systems\nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:\n3+ years of experience using power tools, hand tools, and calibrated tooling\nExisting knowledge of Lenel Access Control software, Avigilon Digital Camera software, and Microsoft VISIO\nLenel certification\nAvigilon certification\nExperience in the space exploration industry, aviation, military or other high-reliability operating environment\nBasic computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office and photo generation/compilation\nAbility to read and understand operating system schematics and drawings\nUse of precision measuring instruments/equipment\nCommunication skills for relaying data (verbally and in-writing) between other employees and customers\nAbility to work effectively in a team environment\nAbility to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment\nEstablishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other department staff, management, vendors, outside agencies, community groups and the general public\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:\nValid driver’s license\nWork is often performed in tight quarters and physical dexterity is necessary to preform job functions\nAbility to lift up to 35lbs. unassisted\nAbility to pass background screening for access to facilities housed on the Department of Defense (DOD) installations\nComfortable working at elevated heights (up to 300 feet) with appropriate safety gear\nComfortable working in extreme outdoor environments heat, cold, rain, etc.\nComfortable working in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise\nAvailability and willingness to work extended hours and weekends, as the schedule varies depending on site operational needs; flexibility is required\nWilling to travel as needed (up to 35%)\nCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:\nPay Range:\nPhysical Security Specialist: $80,000.00 - $105,000.00\nYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.\nBase salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
