IT WIRELESS NETWORK ENGINEER\nSpaceX is looking for an experienced wireless network engineer with a strong background in designing, deploying and managing wireless networks in an enterprise environment. This employee will be a member of the Network Engineering team, which is responsible for managing SpaceX’s wireless networks across all sites. This network supports the designing, manufacturing and launching of rockets, spacecraft, satellites as well as human space flight. The position will be heavily focused on designing, building and troubleshooting wireless networks. The ideal candidate will be a great communicator, able to document work, excel at multi-tasking and enjoy a fast-paced high-tech environment.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nDesign access point placements for new wireless network deployments.\nWork closely with the network infrastructure team to ensure access points are deployed in desired locations and to our standards.\nPerform wireless surveys to identify coverage gaps/performance concerns and implement remediation efforts.\nTroubleshoot wireless issues across a large enterprise deployment.\nSchedule and perform software and hardware updates.\nProcure and manage wireless hardware inventory.\nMonitor wireless network health using in-house and 3rd party tools.\nCreate and maintain proper documentation of our wireless networks across all sites.\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other engineering discipline and 5+ of years professional network engineering experience; OR 7+ years of professional network engineering experience in lieu of a degree.\nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:\nExpert understanding of wireless/RF technologies.\nExperience with CBRS deployments.\nHands on experience with the following:Cisco wireless LAN controllers or other wireless technologies.\nCisco DNA Center.\nEkahau wireless products.\nNetwork monitoring tools.\nNetwork documentation.\n\nLinux/Windows system administration.\nIndustry standard certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE.\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:\nWillingness to work long hours, some nights and weekends when need to meet critical deadlines.\nMust have valid driver's license.\nAbility to pass Air Force background check for Vandenberg and Cape Canaveral.\nPhysical effort including standing, lifting and carrying moderately heavy materials (up to 25 lbs unassisted) or equipment.\nOccasionally exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments - heat, cold, rain.\nWork occasionally performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise.\nAbility to work at elevated heights and/or tight spaces.\nAbility to travel as required to common destinations including Hawthorne, CA; McGregor, TX; Vandenberg, CA; Cape Canaveral, FL.\nCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:\nPay Range:\nLevel 3: $155,000.00 - $215,000.00\nYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.\nBase salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
