Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.\nSUPERVISOR, LOGISTICS (MATERIALS MANAGEMENT) - 3RD SHIFT \nThe Cape Logistics team plays a vital role within the Materials Management organization, overseeing the daily transport and distribution of materials essential to the refurbishment and launch of SpaceX rockets. Our mission is to set the industry standard in logistics performance through a strong safety focus, exceptional on-time delivery, and operational excellence.We are seeking a highly motivated 3rd-shift Supervisor to lead and support the day-to-day logistics operations at our Cape Canaveral facility. This role is responsible for fostering a strong safety culture, managing team performance, and ensuring timely and accurate receipt and movement of critical materials. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and creative leader with a passion for continuous improvement and a commitment to exceeding customer expectations. \nRESPONSIBILITIES: \nPromote a strong safety culture through the enforcement of company safety policies.\nCultivate a team culture that embraces change, encourages innovative thinking, and supports the evaluation and implementation of process improvement ideas.\nOversee administrative functions, including timecard approvals, team scheduling, performance reviews, fleet management, and direct report development through regular one-on-one mentoring and training.\nEnsure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and site-specific transportation policies, including those related to oversized loads and hazardous materials.\nMonitor and support the achievement of operational metrics and performance goals.\nImplement and enforce best practices for loading, unloading, and transporting materials in alignment with company procedures and industry standards.\nManage and delegate Transportation Move Requests tasks effectively to ensure timely resolution and maintain high performance against due dates.\nCollaborate cross-functionally with shipping, receiving, inventory, production coordination, quality control, planning, purchasing, and other departments to resolve material handling and distribution challenges.\nServe as the primary point of contact for audits and ensure the team’s readiness for inspections and compliance evaluations.\nMaintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment by driving continuous improvements in workspace layout and design.\nPerform additional duties as assigned to support an efficient, safe, and productive work environment. \nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS: \nHigh school diploma or equivalency certificate.\n3+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, receiving, distribution, supply chain, or materials management.\n1+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in an operational environment. \nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: \nValid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) at the time of application.\nBachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year university, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in materials management, supply chain, or a related field.\nIn-depth knowledge of transportation processes and procedures specific to Federal property and Cape Canaveral operations.\nAPICS certification such as Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to lead and build effective teams.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).\nExperience building AI applications with demonstrated operational efficiency gains. \nWorking knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance standards, including DOT, 49 CFR, and IATA.\nAbility to work a flexible schedule, including second shift and weekends, as required to support operational needs.\nStrong commitment to meeting deadlines, maintaining accountability, and communicating operational changes or challenges proactively to leadership.\nExperience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies; Green or Black Belt certification is a strong plus.\nPrevious experience in aerospace, aviation, or automotive manufacturing environments, with a solid understanding of the logistical demands and compliance requirements in high-performance industries. \nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: \nAbility to work 3rd shift: 5:00pm - 3:30am\nWillingness to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, as required to meet operational demands.\nAbility to perform physical tasks associated with the role, including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying.\nFlexibility to support a dynamic work schedule, including varied shifts and on-call availability to support mission-critical activities.\nAbility to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral. \nITAR REQUIREMENTS:\nTo conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
