Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.\nSUPERVISOR, PRECISION MACHINING - 2ND SHIFT\nThe Starlink Precision Machining team machines and delivers single digit micron tolerance and difficult-to-source parts at production volumes. The 2nd shift Precision Machining Supervisor will drive a culture of quality while developing exceptional Machinists, Quality Specialists, and Technicians. As a technical leader, the Precision Machining Supervisor will meet customer rate demands, proactively identify and resolve production schedule issues, continuously develop and improve production processes, and inspire the team to achieve consistent machining excellence \nRESPONSIBILITIES: \nLead and manage a team of Technicians, Quality Specialists, and Machinists \nProvide technical guidance and unblock challenging machining issues \nMeet demand requirements to our customers, forecast potential capacity deficiencies, and remove quality/production blockers as they appear \nManage and optimize machine/labor configuration to meet customer demand \nRegularly drive improvements with operations to improve manufacturability, cycle times, cost, and quality \nManage schedules, timecards, and direct report performance \nEnsure all processes have accessible and correct documentation \nSet priorities for the team based on strengths and maximizing output; delegate and manage team bandwidth to achieve successful tasks and projects \nCoordinate with leadership to ensure the machine shop’s focus correctly prioritizes projects that are the most impactful to Starlink success \nThink creatively, question the status quo while following documentation and maintaining prescribed quality standards \nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS: \n5+ years of CNC machining experience \n1+ year of leadership experience in a machine shop setting\nExperience troubleshooting machined components\nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: \n5+ years of leadership experience in a machine shop setting \nDemonstrated experience troubleshooting single-digit micron parts \nAdvanced macro programming experience \nExperience with Heidenhain controls \nAbility to travel to vendors and assist with solving high-level machining problems \nProgramming experience with NX or other similar CAM software \nPrecision inspection experience including CMM using PC-DMIS software and hand tools such as micrometers, calipers, profilometers, and interferometers \nExperience with interdisciplinary project management \nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: \nMust be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed. Estimated 2nd shift time: 4:00PM to 2:30AM\nTravel to vendor sites may be required \nTravel to launch and test sites may be required \nCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:\nPay Range:\n$115,000.00 - $160,000.00\nYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.\nBase salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
