Daily tasks will focus on food preparation, setup, and the operation of a station at one of our various food outlets, according to leadership’s specifications. The Cook position supports SpaceX’s success by providing quality food options that boost morale and productivity.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nComplete daily prep tasks\nEnsure consistency and compliance with the restaurant’s recipes regarding portioning, cooking, and waste control guidelines\nProvide courteous and informative customer service in an “open kitchen” format\nFollow restaurant guidelines concerning guest services, food and physical safety, maintenance, and equipment/space cleaning requirements at all times\nMaintain a clean and safe workstation\nPOSITION DETAILS:\nThis is a temporary position with SpaceX, for the length of time as stated, and is subject to change with minimal notice as business needs dictate.\nLENGTH OF POSITION: 3 months (permanent hire conversion based on performance and business need)\nLOCATION: Brownsville, TX\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:\n2+ years of experience in the food service industry\nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:\nSushi kitchen experience\nRestaurant experience\nHigh volume experience\nExperience with a daily changing menu \nPossession of or willingness to obtain a food handlers card or equivalent\nHigh level of professionalism\nStrong communication skills, both written and verbal\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:\nMust be willing to travel to various SpaceX locations for mission critical projects\nValid state issued driver's license\nMust be able to work all shifts and available for overtime, weekends and holiday(s) as needed\nAbility to carry large, heavy items unassisted (up to 25lbs) \nMust have the ability to stand for long periods - up to 8-12 hours a day. \nAble to perform frequent bending, stooping, and lifting of objects through entire shift \nITAR REQUIREMENTS:\nTo conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
