The ideal candidate brings applicable industry experience, strong communication skills, innovative problem-solving abilities, and a passion for contributing to a safe workplace that supports the advancement of human space exploration.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nCreate course materials using educational tools: PowerPoint, student handouts, exams, study materials, and instructor-led student assessments\nOwn, create, and edit training Engineering Masters (EMs) for relevant EHS training courses\nPartner directly with subject matter experts to design and develop engaging content for a variety of audiences and delivery modes (online, classroom, etc.) with clear strategies and tactics to achieve desired learning outcomes, including but not limited to: OSHA compliance, hazard communication, lockout/tagout, confined space, fall protection, environmental regulations, emergency response, PPE, and incident investigation\nLead training modules (classroom and online) for Production, Engineering, and all site teams on a variety of EHS & technical topics\nAssess and evaluate student performance through practical tests, projects, and written exams\nOrganize, schedule, and manage enrollments, attendance, and student performance\nDevelop process specifications and research on new equipment, technologies and regulatory updates\nPerform special assignments (e.g., leading safety audits, incident reviews, or process modifications in the field)\nEngage Production Management, Engineering, Quality, EHS, and other subject matter experts to gather feedback and implement process improvements for future training modules\nCoordinate with third-party vendors for specialized resources and instruction (e.g., certified OSHA trainers)\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:\nHigh school diploma or equivalency certificate\n1+ years of experience as a technical/on-the-job trainer, conducting hands-on, instructor-led EHS or safety courses\nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:\nBachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, environmental science, engineering, or education\n5+ years of hands-on experience in EHS, manufacturing safety, or industrial hygiene\n1+ years of experience as a safety trainer or EHS specialist\nOSHA 30-hour or equivalent certification; CSP, ASP, or similar professional credentials\nProficiency with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software and learning management systems\nAbility to independently analyze, review, and research EHS processes, regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.), and applicable standards\nAbility to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of workplace hazards and controls (e.g., chemical handling, machine guarding, ergonomics, waste management)\nExcellent oral and written training and communication skills\nProficiency with the development of training programs and materials, including student assessments\nExperience with video editing and online training module development\nProficiency with Microsoft Office\nDemonstrated experience as a team-oriented self-starter, eager to meet and exceed objectives with the ability to handle a multi-project environment\nAbility to read and interpret safety data sheets, engineering drawings, and regulatory documents\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:\nMust be able to work overtime and weekends based on site operational needs\nITAR REQUIREMENTS:\nTo conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
