Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.\nWELDING TECHNICAL TRAINER\nAs a welding technical trainer for ground support equipment you will develop, implement, and run the training program that qualifies welders to deliver consistent, flight-critical structural and pipe welds on Starship and Super Heavy launch infrastructure. Working directly with welding teams, build engineering and operations teams, you will turn defined skill requirements into practical, hands-on training that meets SpaceX quality standards. \nRESPONSIBILITIES: \n Develop and update curriculum, lesson plans, and instructional materials in accordance with industry standards \n Teach Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) using Surface Tension Transfer (STT), and Gas-shielded Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW-G) techniques, safety procedures, and equipment maintenance to students at various skill levels for both structural and pipe welding\nProvide hands-on demonstrations and supervise students during practical lab work to ensure safe and effective learning \nAssess and evaluate student performance through practical tests, projects, and written exams \nStay up to date with the latest advancements in welding technology and integrate them into the curriculum\n Establish strong relationships with local and nationwide schools and vocational programs \nCollaborate with colleagues to enhance program quality and student success \nAdvise and mentor students during their academic instruction and welding careers at SpaceX\nParticipate and contribute to team meetings, professional development, and other continuing education-related activities \n Travel to schools, job fairs, or hiring events - both local and nationwide\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS: \nHigh school diploma or equivalency certificate\n 5+ years of professional welding experience on both pipe and structure using FCAW, GTAW, or GMAW\nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE \nBachelor’s degree in welding technology, industrial education, or related field and/or equivalent work experience \nMust be available for overtime and weekends as the schedule varies depending on site operational needs; flexibility is required\nStrong knowledge of GTAW, FCAW, and GMAW welding processes, materials, and safety protocols \nExperience as a structural fitter or pipe fitter\nAmerican Welding Society Certified Welding Educator (CWE) credential \nProficiency in using welding equipment, tools, and safety devices \nExcellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills \n Proficiency in developing training programs and materials, including lectures and student assessments \nAbility to work with diverse groups of students and adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs \nWelding experience in the aerospace industry \nAmerican Welding Society Certified Welding Educator (CWE) credential \nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: \nMust be available to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed based on operational needs; flexibility required\nMust be available to travel up to 40% of the time\nValid driver’s license\nStand: Up to 3 hours per day\nSit: Up to 6 hours per day\nPush/Pull: Up to 50lbs. (unassisted) up to 15 minutes per day\nOverhead reach: Up to 3 hours per day\nWalk: Up to 3 hours per day\nLift/Carry: Up to 25lbs. (unassisted) up to 15 minutes per day\nClimb (ladder/stairs): Up to 1 hour per day\nKneel/Crouch: Up to 1 hour per day\nUpper body twist: Up to 1 hour per day\nAbility to work in temperatures over 80 degrees up to 30 minutes per day\nCandidate must be capable of safely working at heights (up to 500ft), in confined spaces, using an air purifying respirator, and performing the physical requirements of the job listed in the job description.
