As a staff mobile engineer, you will evolve the mobile team’s technical culture and help build our apps into industry-leading customer experiences in millions of homes.\nResponsibilities\nGuide and drive technical direction for SPAN’s mobile architecture\n\nDrive and support the team’s commitment to code craft, cutting edge tooling, monitoring, and TDD\n\nDesign, implement, and test features in our React Native apps\n\nWork closely with product and design on SPAN’s mobile product and execution strategy\n\nGrow the knowledge of the team, sharing through pair programming, code review, presentations, example code, and documentation\n\nPartner with firmware and backend engineers to influence seamless integration with our hardware product\n\nPartner with QA and Platform Infrastructure to drive an efficient and robust quality system, and speedy, reliable deployments\n\nAs SPAN is a startup, this list should be considered neither exhaustive nor complete. This role will require agility and comfort to explore new areas of expertise and responsibility.\nPotential Projects\nLead the team to define and socialize architectural best practices in advance of a major migration\n\nCollaborate with other functional tech leads on scalability efforts to help us scale to millions of homes\n\nCollaborate with product and the rest of the mobile team to iteratively deliver value in a predictable way against multi-year projects\n\nAbout You\nRequired Qualifications\nWe are seeking a seasoned frontend technical leader with the following demonstrable knowledge and experience:\n4+ years building and shipping user-facing applications used by large audiences.\n\n3+ years of mobile app or React web development, with a preference for ReactNative.\n\nStrong TypeScript experience.\n\nUnshakable practices around Test Driven Development\n\nWorking closely with design on shared components and a design ecosystem\n\nIndustry best practices around CI/CD for testing and deployments\n\nFeature flagging strategy and best practices for iterative development\n\nOutcomes-oriented communication and collaboration skills\n\nBonus Qualifications\nExperience working in the energy industry\n\nExperience working with IoT devices\n\nExperience working with gRPC and Protobuf.\n\nExperience maintaining Monorepo projects\n\nLife at SPAN\nOur Bengaluru team plays a pivotal role in SPAN’s continued growth and expansion.
