Sr. Backend Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Back-end Engineer with at least 4+ years of experience, ideally in a marketplace, to join our fast-growing, high-impact company. Responsibilities:

• Develop and Maintain eCommerce Platform: Deliver and enhance core customer-facing features of our website. Key targets include ensuring it is user-friendly, responsive, and capable of handling large volumes of transactions.
• Integrate Payment and Inventory Systems: Work on integrating secure payment gateways and real-time inventory management systems to streamline the ordering process for customers.
• Optimize Performance: Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of the website and backend systems to ensure fast load times and a smooth user experience.
• Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with the product, design, and marketing teams to implement new features and improve the overall customer journey.
• Implement Security Best Practices: Ensure the eCommerce platform is secure by implementing best practices for data protection, encryption, and regular security audits.
• Mentor and Guide Junior Developers: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration within the tech team.

General information about the position:

• The position will be full-time, remote, and working in India.
• Language requirement: Competent level of English.

Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree in computer science/software engineering or equivalent industry experience.
• 4+ Years of back-end development experience: Proven experience in JavaScript development, with a strong understanding of both front-end and back-end technologies.
• Proficiency in Modern Web Technologies: Expertise in JavaScript, HTML5 CSS3 and frameworks like Svelte, React, Angular, or Vue.js for front-end development. Solid experience with Node.js, Python, Go, or similar back-end languages.
• Experience with eCommerce Platforms: Hands-on experience in building or maintaining eCommerce platforms, ideally marketplaces, particularly in a wholesale or B2B environment.
• Database Management: Strong knowledge of database systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB, including experience with data modeling, queries, and optimization.
• API Integration: Extensive experience in designing and integrating RESTful APIs, third-party services, and payment gateways.
• Version Control and CI/CD: Proficiency with Git and experience in continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Problem-Solving and Debugging: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex systems efficiently.
• Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
