Position Summary:

The Meat Cutterisresponsible for ensuring the meat cases are well-stocked with fresh, high-quality meat and poultry products.Receivesstock, cuts, grinds, wraps, weighs, prices, andmerchandisesmeat department productsto department specifications.Mayorder and stock prepackaged deli items and frozen food products that fall under the meat department.Ensuresproper inventory control and product rotation to maximize product freshness.Perform duties that comply with local health code and follow proper safety procedures and standards.This position requires working weekends and holidays based on department staffing requirements.

Here’s what you’ll do:

• Receive and fulfill all customer orders

• Wrap, weigh, label and display all meat merchandise

• Stock display case and rotate merchandise as requested

• Assistcustomers with all inquiries and requests

• Operate machinery by following proper department production and safety standards, as needed

• Conducts inventories and cycle counts asrequired

• Follows safe food handling and local health department standards.

• Maintains a safe work environment for employees,vendorsand customers.

• Sustainsa high levelof product knowledge and product preparationwork toward continuous quality improvement

• Grind and trim meat upon customer’s request

• Inspect and reassemble equipment for use and perform routine maintenance as assigned

• Clean and sanitize work area,equipmentand utensils in compliance with health code

• Demonstrate excellent customer service standards

• Work towardcontinuous quality improvement

• Ensuresaccuratepricing by placing the corresponding price and ingredient labels on each package

• Consistently upholds company culture and meets customer service and performance expectations.

• Uphold, support, and promote compliance with all company policies and procedures.

• Other duties as assigned

Here’s what you’ll need:

• High school diploma or GED

• Must be 18 years of age or older

• Must have two years’ previous experience as a Meat Cutter Apprentice or equivalent

• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents

• Basic mathematical skills

• Suggestive Selling/Knowledge of Products

• Detail Oriented

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
