Apply now!\nLocation:\n850 76th Street S.W. - Byron Center, Michigan 49315Position Summary:\nThe Network & Telecommunications Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, security, and operational support of enterprise network, telecommunications, wireless, and RF communications infrastructure, providing Tier 3 expertise across LAN/WAN, WLAN/WWAN, VoIP/SIP, and PBX. The role collaborates with technology teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and engineering partners to ensure services are secure, reliable, scalable, and highly available, while supporting architecture, complex troubleshooting, monitoring, technology upgrades, capacity planning, documentation, project implementation, and infrastructure changes. The position also provides technical leadership by establishing standards and procedures, mentoring team members, evaluating emerging technologies, supporting technology investments, and contributing to long-term infrastructure strategy and leadership decision-making.\nResponsibilities and Essential Duties:\nWorks with various departments and other technology department teams to ensure coordination of network/telecommunications team and resources to accomplish the needs and support of the district.\nWorks with network/telecommunications team and helps plan, organize, and align work priorities to meet and exceed service level objectives.\nCommunicates proactively and clearly with various teams within the technology department and the district to ensure follow-through.\nManage tasks, timelines, and deadlines with assurance to customers.\nContributes knowledge and expertise of area to technology department leadership to help guide decision making. Maintains strict confidentiality of accessible district information resources.\nDesign and implement telecom systems that meet customer requirements\nDiagnosing and troubleshooting issues with existing telecom systems\nProvide technical support to customers and internal teams\nPrepare technical documentation for telecom systems\nInstalls and repairs all type of network and Telecom cables.\nTest and validate new telecom equipment and software releases\nProvide training and guidance to junior members of the team\nSupports and troubleshoots Tier 3 Network Infrastructure (Meraki, Aruba, Cisco, Enterprise Phone System & Telecommunications).\nAnalyzes and rectifies complex faults on the network to meet defined service levels.\nMaintains network and communication infrastructures to meet and enhance network the environment.\nCoordinates network and telecommunications move, add, changes.\nAdministers and maintains telecommunication servers.\nAnalyzes, creates, and reports on project implementation plans to minimize risk to network availability.\nMaintains and extends technical skills and knowledge to remain proficient in the role.\nArchitects, plans, installs, and assists in hardware and software purchases for network and telecommunications infrastructure.\nEnsures maximum uptime of networks, telecom and diligently maintains its highest availability by monitoring, prioritizing and actively resolving issues of network downtime.\nTrains other team members in skills, knowledge, and abilities of job duties.\nHelps develop long-range operational goals for network, telecommunications, and RF infrastructure.\nCreates and updates technical documentation for individual and team use.\nKnowledge, Skills Abilities:\nMinimum five (5) years of experience designing, engineering, installing, and maintaining a network or telecommunications environment.\nMinimum five (5) years enterprise telecommunications systems or systems operations.\nMinimum two (2) years of experience planning, managing, prioritizing, assigning, and monitoring work to meet objectives of multiple or competing priorities/projects.\nVoice Technologies (POTS, VoIP, SIP, Trunking)\nRouting and Switching\nFamiliarity with VOIP, SIP Trunking, VLAN\nTelecommunications software such as Call accounting, Voicemail, TFTP, and other related technologies Radio Communications Technologies\nExperience with Cisco CUCM/Call Manager, ShoreTel/Mitel, Toshiba, or similar phone systems\nMicrosoft 365 experience including Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint\nExperience with telecom circuits and structured cabling\nApproximately 50% travel to retail locations and distribution centers. Position requires regular on-site support, implementation of activities, troubleshooting, and coordination with business stakeholders.\nHours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (Flexible).
