The Fleet Manager will work closely with Field Operations, Human Resources, Finance, and company leadership to ensure vehicles are properly maintained, cost-effective, compliant, and available to support business needs.\n\nWe're looking for someone who can manage a growing fleet, identify opportunities to reduce expenses, and maintain accountability across geographically distributed teams.\n\nWhat You'll Do\nFleet Operations & Vehicle Management\n\nOversee daily fleet operations across multiple U.S. markets.\n\nMaintain accurate records of company vehicles, assigned drivers, locations, and vehicle status.\n\nCoordinate vehicle assignments, transfers, replacements, and returns.\n\nManage vehicle acquisition and disposal processes in coordination with leadership.\n\nMonitor vehicle utilization and recommend adjustments based on operational needs.\n\nCoordinate vehicle availability for new hires, transfers, and market expansion.\n\nEstablish and maintain consistent fleet management procedures.\n\nMaintenance & Repairs\n\nCoordinate preventive maintenance, inspections, and vehicle repairs.\n\nTrack maintenance schedules, mileage, and service history.\n\nWork with dealerships, repair facilities, and fleet service providers.\n\nMinimize vehicle downtime through proactive maintenance and timely repairs.\n\nReview repair estimates and coordinate approvals according to company procedures.\n\nIdentify recurring maintenance concerns and recommend cost-effective solutions.\n\nMonitor vehicle condition and ensure fleet assets remain safe and operational.\n\nFleet Compliance & Driver Accountability\n\nMaintain current vehicle registrations, inspections, and required documentation.\n\nCoordinate fleet insurance records, claims, and accident reporting.\n\nWork with Human Resources to verify driver eligibility and required documentation.\n\nMonitor compliance with company vehicle policies and applicable regulations.\n\nCoordinate vehicle recovery and reassignment following employee separations.\n\nTrack vehicle-related incidents, damages, and policy concerns.\n\nEscalate safety or compliance issues to appropriate leadership.\n\nVendor & Expense Management\n\nManage relationships with fleet management companies, dealerships, maintenance providers, and other vendors.\n\nReview fleet-related invoices, maintenance expenses, and operating costs.\n\nMonitor fuel expenses, mileage, vehicle utilization, and repair trends.\n\nIdentify opportunities to reduce unnecessary fleet expenditures.\n\nAssist with fleet budgeting, expense forecasting, and cost reporting.\n\nEvaluate vendor performance and recommend improvements.\n\nSupport negotiations for vehicle services and fleet-related agreements.\n\nReporting & Cross-Department Coordination\n\nMaintain accurate fleet records within company systems.\n\nProvide regular reports on vehicle inventory, assignments, maintenance, expenses, and utilization.\n\nCoordinate with Field Operations regarding vehicle availability and operational requirements.\n\nWork with Human Resources and Onboarding on vehicle assignments for new employees.\n\nPartner with Finance regarding fleet expenses, invoices, and budgeting.\n\nIdentify fleet-related operational risks and communicate concerns to leadership.\n\nSupport fleet planning as SpartanX expands into additional markets.\n\nWhat We're Looking For\n\nPrevious experience in fleet management, fleet operations, transportation management, or a related role\n\nExperience managing vehicles across multiple locations or geographic markets.\n\nStrong understanding of vehicle maintenance, repair coordination, and preventive maintenance programs.\n\nExperience managing vendor relationships and controlling fleet expenses.\n\nKnowledge of vehicle registrations, insurance coordination, and fleet compliance requirements.\n\nStrong organizational and problem-solving skills.\n\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.\n\nExperience with fleet management software, tracking systems, and reporting tools.\n\nProficiency with Microsoft Excel and other business applications.\n\nStrong communication skills and ability to coordinate across multiple departments.\n\nAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, growing organization.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nExperience managing fleets for construction, solar, utilities, telecommunications, or other field-service organizations.\n\nExperience with vehicle acquisition, leasing, and disposal.\n\nFamiliarity with GPS tracking, telematics, and fuel management systems.\n\nExperience supporting a geographically distributed workforce.\n\nExperience developing fleet policies and
