Lead development of a risk aware/risk mitigation culture facility where employees are contributing to self-accountability and risk mitigation efforts.\nRequirements\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nObtains and maintains all applicable regulatory permits (air, stormwater, sanitary, waste).\nReviews/prepares all annual OSHA and environmental reports and maintains supporting documentation.\nProvides technical support to plant personnel regarding OSHA, local, state & federal environmental and DOT regulations.\nIdentifies continuous improvement opportunities to improve overall Health and Safety performance across the site.\nResponsible for the Industrial Hygiene Monitoring Program for the plant.\nMaintain all facility EHS records and KPIs.\nParticipates in chemical and material review. Maintains chemical inventory for the site.\nManages all Corporate Standards and Processes.\nManages and facilitates internal audit and inspection programs related to environment, health and safety.\nProvides technical support and guidance to the review of equipment modifications, risk assessments, and capital installations.\nLead and actively participate in site safety committee and cross-plant teams.\nLeads investigations for all safety incidents, and injuries in conjunction with operations, maintenance and HR.\nCoordinates evaluation, purchase and distribution of safety equipment and supplies.\nManages site injuries and incidents including workers’ compensation programs and guidelines.\nDevelops hazard control practices and programs in conjunction with corporate EHS.\nSupports compliance with installation, maintenance, and auditing of all security, fire protection equipment and alarms.\nStays up to date on regulatory requirements.\nSupports new hire orientation training.\nOther duties as assigned.\nTraining:\nProvides education and training for new employees and existing facility personnel on appropriate EHS programs. \nAnalyzes training system effectiveness to identify and correct opportunities for improvement. \nEnsures training records and supporting documentation are current and maintained as appropriate. \nMaintains training system to ensure that supervisors/managers are aware of training needs for employees. \nParticipation in Board of Review where necessary as an opportunity to improve plant training system. \nPrepare weekly reports summarizing key training data, activities and upcoming needs. \nParticipation in projects, teams as required\nOther duties as assigned.\nRequired Education:\nBachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Chemistry or related technical field, or equivalent work experience.\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:\nKnowledge of safety and health and environmental codes and regulations required.\nAbility to train in all areas of safety and health.\nComputer skills: Proficiency with word-processing and spreadsheet applications required (MS Word & Excel preferred).\nStrong organizational skills required.\nExcellent oral and written communication skills required \nProven leadership competencies including problem solving, decision making, motivation, ethical performance, teamwork, results oriented \nRequired Length & Type of Experience:\nTen (10) years of experience in manufacturing environment in a progressive EH&S role.\nBenefits\nWe offer competitive salary, incentive, and benefit programs. - Most Benefits Start Day ONE!\nBenefits include:\n Medical, Dental, & Vision.\n Company paid life and long-term and short-term disability programs.\n Flexible spending accounts.\n 401(k) with a strong matching program.\n 120 hours Paid Time Off (pro-rated based on hire date).\n 11 paid holidays.\n Spartech LLC, headquartered in Maryland Heights, Missouri is a leading manufacturing organization in the Custom Sheet & Roll Stock and Packaging industries with over a dozen locations throughout the United States.
