(SFI) is seeking an Sr. Data Engineer to support our growing modernization team. SFI was recently awarded the 2025 USA Today National Top Places to Work award and the 2025 Washington Post Top Workplaces.\nProject Overview:\nSupport the customer’s missions including application development, rapid prototyping, standards development, and research and development of new technologies. This position requires database administration, data engineering and data architecture skills. Our customer is migrating applications away from Oracle RDBMS to open-source DBs like Postgres. This position will support these migrations through identification of the target data architecture and hands-on implementation of the migration. Database administration support is also expected on an as-needed basis.\nWork Location - Remote with ability to be available for customer meetings\nSummary of Major Job Functions:\nAssist app teams in converting existing PL/SQL (and other code) away from Oracle into Postgres (and potentially other databases).\nThese projects include support to app teams in improving existing data models and data structures on an as-needed basis.\nResponsibilities:\nThis position will be embedded with App teams in a Data Developer function, assisting with converting the PL/SQL procedures/functions to new code for the applications.\nIt will eventually include some “Data Engineering/Architecture” job functions, assisting with Schema/Model improvements.\nThis role will assist with other ETL assistance/automation needs as they arise in the team.\nRequirements\n US Citizenship with ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance\nA bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required\nAWS Cloud Practitioner Certification or above is desired\nSQL Developer (5+ years)\nPostgres (4+ years)\nOracle DB (3+ years)\nDB Administration (4+ years)\nDeveloper skills (5+ years)\nDesired Skills & Qualifications:\nExperience supporting large-scale federal government IT modernization projects is highly desirable.\nExperience with Enterprise Data Lake (EDL) environments and large-scale data integration initiatives.\nAdditional Information:\nIn order to meet the clearance requirements for this opportunity, candidates must be US Citizen.\nAll candidates will be subject to a complete background check to include, but not limited to Criminal History, Education Verification, Professional Certification Verification, Verification of Previous Employment and Credit History.\nPublic Trust background investigations can take approximately four to eight weeks and requires fingerprinting.\nOther Information:\nThe salary for this position is $130,000 -
