Our Aerospace Engineer I/II will be based in our Boston (Seaport) office. Funded by a mix of government R&D organizations and private funding, Specter is expanding its team in preparation for flight testing and full-scale production.\nRole & Responsibilities\nConduct aerodynamic and aerothermal numerical simulations of high-speed flight systems\nUtilize varying levels of fidelity to support model build up\nSupport wind tunnel test preparation and execution\nCoordinate with design team to provide feedback on system design\nSupporttrajectory optimization and analysis efforts (3DOF/6DOF)\nOther duties as assigned by the company\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related discipline\n0-3years of relevant full-time experience\nInterest in/Experience conducting high-speed numerical simulations of aerospace vehicles\nInterest in/Experienceusing any of the following CFD tools: FUN3D, US3D, Cart3D, CFD++, OVERFLOW, Vulcan\nInterest in/Experienceusing grid preparation software (Pointwise, GridPro)\nInterest in/Experienceusing scripting languages (Python, BASH, MATLAB) to aid in analysis\nInterest in/Experienceconducting wind tunnel tests at academic, government, and private wind tunnels\nInterest in/Experienceusinglow fidelity methods for aerodynamic estimation\nAbility to obtain a DoD security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)\nPreferred Qualifications\nMaster’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline\n2+ years of relevant full-time experience\nExperience developing high fidelity aerodynamic models for use in 6DOF simulations\nExperience leading/conducting aerodynamic wind tunnel campaigns\nExperience conducting aerothermal analyses to inform material selection/survivability\nActive DoD
