In this role, you will support the design and development of mechanical components and systems, taking responsibility for specific parts and assemblies throughout the design process. The ideal candidate is a motivated engineer with a strong passion for mechanical design and innovative problem-solving.\nAbout Specter Aerospace:\nSpecter Aerospace is building the next generation of hypersonic vehicles for U.S. Forces and Allies. With offices in Boston and Peabody, MA, Specter leverages its advanced propulsion technologies, manufacturing, and testing capabilities to rapidly develop supersonic and hypersonic systems. This open application will be reviewed for roles based in any/all of our offices. Funded by a mix of government R&D organizations and private funding, Specter is expanding its team in preparation for flight testing and full-scale production\nRole & Responsibilities:\nWork in a rapidpacedenvironment, designing systems and parts for hypersonic flight vehicles\n\nGenerating practical solutions to open-ended engineering problems\nCreate drawings for manufacturing release\nBe the Responsible Engineer for a complete mechanical subsystem\nEnd-to-end ownership of vehicle subsystemsseeing them through prototype, test and production\nAnalysis of components within a flight vehicle\nWork between disciplines to efficiently design and optimize novel flight systems to meet internal and customer performance requirements\nJob Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree in mechanicalengineeringor relatedfields\n\n3+ years of prior professional work experience\nProficiencyusing CAD software with a PLM platform (SolidWorks preferred)\nComfort with project autonomy and fast-paced work environments\nStrong collaborative skills and a drive to produce quality work\nFundamental understanding of mechanical engineering principles (statics, materials, thermo/fluids, etc…)\nAvailable for up to 10% travel for test activities\nAbility to obtain a DoD security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)\nDesired Skills:\nFamiliarity with GD&T\nPrior aerospace
