The candidate will work closely with avionics, embedded software, mechanical, GNC, and test engineers to develop systems supporting Specter’s experimental and flight vehicle programs.\nAbout Specter Aerospace\nSpecter Aerospace is building the next generation of hypersonic vehicles for U.S. Forces and Allies. With offices in Boston and Peabody, MA, Specter leverages its advanced propulsion technologies, manufacturing, and testing capabilities to rapidly develop supersonic and hypersonic systems. Our RF Hardware Engineer will be based in our Boston (Seaport) office. Funded by a mix of government R&D organizations and private funding, Specter is expanding its team in preparation for flight testing and full-scale production.\nRole Responsibilities\nDevelop RF telemetry and communications architectures for high-speed flight vehicles and ground systems.\nPerform link budgets, range calculations, propagation analysis, and RF system performance modeling.\nDesign, select, integrate, and test antennas, radios, amplifiers, filters, cables, and other RF components.\nDefine RF interfaces and requirements for vehicle avionics, antennas, and ground station equipment.\nEvaluate antenna placement, vehicle integration constraints, radiation patterns, and expected link performance.\nDevelop laboratory and field testingprotocols for RF system shakedown, characterization, and validation.\nDiagnose RF hardware, antenna, interference, and communications issues using laboratory test equipment.\nSupport vehicle integration, ground testing, range coordination, and flight-test operations.\nAnalyze telemetry performance and RF data following laboratory, field, and flight tests.\nTake ownership of assigned RF systems from initialrequirements through implementation, testing, and documentation.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or a related field.\nThree or more years of relevant professional experience.\nExperience developing, integrating, or testing RF communications, telemetry, or antenna systems.\nExperience performing link budgets, range calculations, or RF propagation analysis.\nFamiliarity with antenna fundamentals, RF components, transmission lines, and impedance matching.\nExperience using RF laboratory equipment such as spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, signal generators, or power meters.\nAbility to interpret RF componentdatasheets, schematics, interface documentation, and test results.\nStrong communicationand collaboration skills, with a drive to produce high-quality work.\nEligible to obtain and maintaina U.S. Secret security clearance;
