Funded by a mix of government R&D organizations and private funding, Specter is expanding its team in preparation for flight testing and full-scale production\nRole & Responsibilities:\nWork in a fast-paced environment, designing systems and parts for hypersonic flight vehicles\nBe the Responsible Engineer for a completeSpectervehicle\nLeadpreliminary analysisat the component and system level\nLeadarchitecture/concept trade studies for vehicle/mechanicalsystems\nCreate drawings for manufacturing release\nOwnership of vehicle systems\nPerform analysisof components/systemswithin a flight vehicle\nWork between disciplines to efficiently design and optimize novel flight systems to meet internal and customer performance requirements\nIntegrate subsystems into biggersystems ensuring fitand functionality\nJob Requirements:\nBachelor’sdegree in mechanical or aerospace engineering,or relatedfields\n5+ years of prior professional work experience\nProficiencyusing CAD software with a PLM platform (SolidWorks preferred)\nComfort with project autonomy and fast-paced work environments\nStrong collaborative skills and a drive to produce quality work\nDemonstrated ability to lead technical projects with autonomy in fast-paced, ambiguous environments\nFundamental understanding of mechanical engineering principles (statics, dynamics,materials, thermo/fluids, etc…)\nAvailable for up to 10% travel for test activities\nAbility to obtain a DoD security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)\nDesired Skills:\nPrevious hands-on experience in a technical shop,
