We are a small, fast growing team who hail from Anduril, Tesla, Uber, and the U.S. Special Forces.\n\nThe Role\n Specter is hiring a hands-on mechanical engineer to design products that will expand our product portfolio. This individual will own subsystem design and development from concept to production. This individual will collaborate with electrical engineers, manufacturing, supply chain, and test teams to deliver a performant, scalable, and validated design to the field.\nResponsibilities:\nResponsibilities include electrical packaging of PCBAs including enclosures, sealing, connectors, wire harness, and thermal interfaces.\n\nHands on prototype building to accelerate product development.\n\nQualifications:\nComfortable working in a fast-paced environment and being scrappy.\n\nBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent.\n\n3+ years of experience designing, testing, and fielding high volume products.\n\nDemonstrated experience designing tightly integrated products that live in harsh, outdoor environments (IP67, MILSTD810G/H or higher).\n\nExperience in doing tolerance analysis for prototyping and mass production.\n\nHands on experience with tests (shock, vibe, thermal, EMC ).\n\nExperience designing for different manufacturing methods including machining, injection molding, casting, and sheet metal parts.\n\nExceptional organization and communication skills (both written and oral).\n\nExperience with coupled thermal analysis, design, and simulation for high density power dissipation. Preferred qualifications include experience with designing thermal solutions for air and liquid cooling.\n\nExperience with thermal, structural and modal analysis including first order modeling.
