Ideally, you have worked on flying vehicles or mobile robots.\nWhat you’ll do\nYou will shape the software & perception architecture, design and implementation for our autonomous, flying countermeasures.\nBe one of the first members of a high-performing team, designing and developing autonomous countermeasures to protect allied countries from aerial threats\n\nOwn, design, develop, document and test high-performant and reliable autonomous systems, design and implement algorithms and software running on resource-constrained devices (Linux-based)\n\nIdentify, integrate and test sensors, including cameras, for autonomous flying countermeasures\n\nBuild high-fidelity simulations and digital twins for offline and online scenarios\n\nBe hands-on, working close to the hardware when needed during development and tests\n\nEstablish CI/CD pipelines for non-regression testing and automated builds\n\nDraft and review documentation and design documents\n\nBe a team player and a mentor, being available to support and grow the team when needed\n\nLocation: Onsite in Brussels, Belgium. Our office is close to Central Station.\nReports to: Chief Technology Officer\nRequirements\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Control Systems, Computer Science or equivalent\n\nDemonstrated experience in the role, with significant ownership of one or more subsystems of complex, robotics products\n\nAt least 8 years of experience in a relevant position\n\nProficiency with C++ for production systems and Python for prototypes\n\nExperience with ROS2 or other middleware\n\nProficiency with state estimation techniques, perception, sensor fusion and autonomy\n\nExperience using simulation and visualization environments for robotics (Rviz, Foxglove, Gazebo, etc.)\n\nExposure to electro-mechanical systems integration\n\nAbility to quickly prototype independently, using off-the-shelf electronic components\n\nExcellent interpersonal communication skills in written and spoken English; French or Dutch is a plus\n\nYou are a self-starter, able to work in a high-ambiguity environment and willing to take up new challenges\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nProficient with Rust\n\nExperience with the PX4 flight controller or other flight controllers\n\nExperience selecting sensors (thermal, RGB cameras, laser rangefinders, IMUs, etc.) and actuators (servo motors, geared motors)\n\nExperience with drones, missiles, rockets or other flying vehicles\n\nExperience with one of the following: VIO/SLAM, ML model training, reinforcement learning\n\nWhat we offer\nAttractive compensation\n\nYear-end bonus\n\nStock Options Plan\n\nMobility Budget\n\n32 days of holidays\n\nMeal vouchers\n\nPrivate Health insurance\n\nWe are building a core team of hard-working people.
