New projects and continuous growth mean we have a long-term career opportunity with an industry leader.\nAbout the role\nWe are seeking an experienced Cost Controller to join our Operations team and support the successful commercial and financial delivery of projects located in Victoria or South Australia. This is a FIFO role working a project-based roster, with the specific roster and point of hire confirmed for each project assignment. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this role will be responsible for administering and controlling project costs, supporting monthly reporting and forecasting, and ensuring supplier and subcontract agreements are financially reviewed and managed in line with company requirements.\nKey responsibilities\nCoordinate monthly cost reviews, forecasting and project cost reporting to support accurate and timely commercial decision making\nManage revenue and cost reporting, including labour, plant and equipment, suppliers, materials, margins, bill rates and utilisation\nTrack accruals, spent hours, forecast costs to complete, cash flow and earned value reporting across the project lifecycle\nCollate, review and ensure the accuracy of head contract, subcontractor and supplier progress claims\nSupport the Commercial Manager and project team with contractual correspondence, claims responses, variations and commercial risk management\nMaintain accurate financial data, cost reports, procurement registers, contract records and project documentation\nReview subcontractor and supplier terms and conditions, pricing, progress claims, variations, securities and close-out documentation\nSupport RFQ, procurement and tender activities, including commercial evaluations, award recommendations and contract documentation\nLiaise with project teams, client representatives, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost information is captured and communicated effectively\nIdentify project cost risks, opportunities and process improvements while supporting compliance with company policies, delegations and QHSE requirements\nAbout you\nRelevant qualification in Business, Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience\nMinimum five years’ project financial or cost control experience, ideally across at least two previous project environments\nExperience working in a project delivery environment and the ability to work FIFO on a project-based roster in Victoria or South Australia\nStrong cost control, financial reporting, forecasting, cash flow, change management and commercial administration capability\nHighly numerate, analytical and detail focused, with the ability to identify trends, errors, risks and opportunities quickly\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills, with exposure to Sage X3 ERP or similar systems desirable\nGood understanding of project scheduling and the relationship between schedule, cost, productivity and commercial outcomes\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports and commercial documentation\nStrong negotiation, influencing, problem-solving, planning and stakeholder management skills\nA proactive, resilient and collaborative approach,
