R&D Project Manager

About the role

Are you eager to develop your project management skills within R&D and innovation? As an R&D Project Manager, you will support Spirii's innovation projects, starting with a strong focus on e-mobility and energy - an area that currently requires significant effort and attention - while over time also branching out into other topics relevant to Spirii.

Right now, you will support a newlyEU Horizon-funded initiative advancing the integration of heavy-duty battery electric vehicles (HD-BEVs) in real-world logistics operations across European corridors. Your focus will be on getting the project up and running and coordinating day-to-day tasks across pilot sites and partners, while the department manager - the project's main point of contact - is on leave. Working closely with cross-functional teams and external partners, you will help keep things moving and on track.

You won'tbe carrying it all alone. During your first twomonths, the department manager will guide you into the role, starting with the ongoing AHEAD project and then into the new fundedproject, as well as into the way we work. While the department manager is subsequently on leave, your role will be to take care of the project's initiation and day-to-day task coordination, with the CTO and the department manager (once back) availableto assist on big tasks and decisions.

You will also get to work on other R&D projects onsimilar topics, with a mix of light technical involvement and hands-on coordination tasks such as R&D hour registration and financing support. You will alsorepresentSpirii and its projects in other R&D/innovation proposals and at conferences. The role calls for adaptability across a variety of tasks, with your manager and the wider team guiding and supporting you along the way.

What you will do

• Initiate the newly funded R&D project(starting 2027) and coordinate its day-to-day activities, timelines, andcommunication across Spirii teams and partners, while the department manager is on leave and continues to own key decisions

• Support the Future Tech team with the ongoing AHEAD project, contributing technical input or light project coordination whereuseful

• Support the CTO and finance department with R&D project time-tracking and reporting, in line with EU Horizon funding requirements (especially while the department manager is on leave)

• Support the FT team in collaborating with external partners and stakeholders toevaluate opportunities for EV fleets in grid flexibility and energy markets

• Assistin preparing and submittingproposals for EU-, DK-, and other funded innovation projects, alongside internal teamsand external partners

• Help facilitatecollaboration between R&D, product management, development, and commercial teams

• Join partner meetings, workshops, internal presentations, and external conferences to representthe organization and build relationships

Who you are

• An engineer with knowledge of e-mobility; knowledge of energy markets, grid flexibility, EV fleet management, and/or EV roaming is a plus

• Motivated to grow into a project management role with a proactive, solution-oriented approach

• A collaborative team player with strong communicationskills and adaptability in interdisciplinary settings

• Experienced in R&D or related commercial activities, with some exposure to data analysis or technical evaluation

• Eager to engage in external collaborations, funding proposals, and knowledge sharing

• Familiar with EU Horizon project structures (work packages, deliverables, consortium coordination) - a plus
