This may include attending meetings and taking minutes, receiving project documents, compiling knowledge bases, keeping project deadlines, growing the team and managing the performance of every individual in it.\n\nWhere you fit in\n\nData Engineer Team Lead function will be responsible for leading the team that collects, stores, processes, and analyzes data sets. They will be responsible for the team, for project activities and delivery, and cooperating with project management, product, and Architecture.\n\nThe impact you will have\n\nMaintain and evolve the existing Data Platform (Spark-based ETL pipelines, Kafka messaging, PostgreSQL DWH) and be a key player in designing and implementing the next-generation Data Lake / event-driven Data Warehouse architecture.\n\nAlign with the company’s software engineering policies including SDLC, CI/CD processes, database structures, monitoring, and logging standards.\n\nMonitor and improve data quality across all operator data sets, ensuring reliability for regulatory reporting and BI consumption.\n\nRecommend and implement improvements to data reliability, pipeline observability, and incident response processes for the data infrastructure.\n\nDevelop and maintain reports and dashboards (Power BI) in collaboration with BI Developers and Data Analysts.\n\nUpskill and grow a team of Data Engineers and BI professionals; manage performance and career development of everyone.\n\nAudit and maintain current Data platform for improvements\n\nCoordinate with cross-functional teams (Sportsbook, Casino, Payments, Platform) and business stakeholders on data integration strategies and shared data contracts.\n\nWhat we’re looking for\n\nExcellent level of English language, written and verbal\n\nExperience in open-source data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, HBase, Hive, Kafka, Storm etc.)\n\nSQL and NoSQL technologies, experience with data modelling and DWH design\n\nExperience with Version Control Systems (GitLab/Git)\n\nStrong object-oriented design and development skills (Scala)\n\nEnjoy improving & optimizing software and using new technologies\n\nUnix/Linux and shell scripting proficiency\n\nExperience managing data pipelines in production with monitoring, alerting, and incident response\n\nProactive thinking, result-oriented approach, and proven ability to lead and mentor engineers\n\nExperience designing and consuming RESTful APIs\n\nSolid understanding of database paradigms — columnar, distributed, and row-based\n\nDesirable\n\nKnowledge of event-driven / streaming architectures (Kafka Streams, Flink, or equivalent)\n\nExperience managing and migrating legacy data systems\n\nAWS knowledge and experience (S3, CloudFront, or related services)\n\nFamiliarity with BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Grafana)\n\nExperience in the iGaming / betting industry or other regulated environments\n\nExperience with multi-tenancy architecture\n\nWe are Sportingtech\n\nSportingtech is a multi-award-winning provider of turnkey betting and gaming solutions designed for regulated and emerging markets around the world.
