SportsMed Physical Therapy is looking for a driven, highly organized Recruiting Coordinator to join our growing Recruiting team.
This role is focused on finding the best candidates within a high volume of applicants and moving qualified candidates efficiently into the interview pipeline.
You will review applications across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical positions, identify candidates who meet our requirements, conduct initial screening conversations, and work closely with our Recruiters and hiring managers to move strong candidates forward.
This is a fast-paced role that requires someone who can work through large applicant volumes without sacrificing judgment or candidate quality. You should be comfortable making decisions, prioritizing your workload, following up with candidates, and keeping multiple positions moving at the same time.
While the primary focus will be applicant screening and candidate qualification, you will also have many opportunities to proactively source candidates for hard-to-fill positions where additional outreach is needed.
What You'll Do
- Review a high volume of applications across clinical and non-clinical positions.
- Quickly assess resumes and applications against the requirements of each position.
- Identify qualified candidates and prioritize applicants for further consideration.
- Conduct initial phone and/or virtual screening interviews with qualified applicants.
- Evaluate candidates' experience, qualifications, communication skills, availability, compensation expectations, and interest in the position.
- Identify potential concerns or disqualifying factors early in the process.
- Maintain a high level of efficiency while ensuring qualified candidates receive appropriate consideration.
- Move qualified candidates into the appropriate next stage of the recruiting process.
- Communicate professionally and promptly with candidates throughout the screening process.
- Work closely with Recruiters to understand hiring priorities and candidate requirements.
- Consistently deliver qualified candidates to Recruiters and hiring managers.
- Coordinate interviews and assist with scheduling when appropriate.
- Follow up with candidates to prevent delays and keep the process moving.
- Monitor candidates throughout the early stages of the process and identify when additional follow-up is needed.
- Help ensure strong candidates are not lost because of slow response times or gaps in communication.
- Maintain accurate and timely candidate information within the Applicant Tracking System.
- Support recruiting efforts for Physical Therapists and other clinical professionals as well as administrative, operational, and corporate positions by engaging in passive outreach and creative sourcing.
- Develop an understanding of the qualifications and characteristics that make a successful candidate for different types of positions.
- Work with Recruiters and hiring managers to refine candidate requirements when needed.
- Become familiar with SportsMed's clinical services, culture, career opportunities, and hiring needs in order to effectively evaluate and communicate with candidates.
- Conduct proactive sourcing when applicant volume is insufficient for a particular position.
- Utilize LinkedIn, job boards, professional networks, referrals, and other recruiting resources to identify potential candidates.
- Reach out to qualified candidates who may not have applied directly to the position.
- Build relationships with potential candidates for current and future opportunities.
- Assist Recruiters with sourcing efforts for difficult-to-fill positions.
- Manage multiple open positions and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Take ownership of assigned candidate pools and searches.
- Recognize when applicant flow is insufficient and take action to generate additional candidates.
- Identify opportunities to improve screening efficiency and candidate conversion.
- Bring ideas and solutions to the Recruiting team rather than waiting for direction.
- Consistently look for ways to increase the number of qualified candidates entering the interview pipeline.

The Person We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who can move quickly, make good decisions, and keep the candidate pipeline moving forward.
You know how to recognize a strong candidate on paper, but you also know that a resume doesn't tell the whole story.
You're comfortable picking up the phone, conducting an initial screen, asking the right questions, and determining whether a candidate should move forward.
You don't let candidates sit in your inbox for days. You follow up. You communicate. You keep your Recruiters informed. And when a position isn't generating enough qualified applicants, you assist with passive outreach to build candidate pipelines in more creative ways.
The ideal candidate is organized, efficient, proactive, and comfortable working at a high pace.
What Success Looks Like
- Qualified candidates are identified quickly from large applicant pools.
- Recruiters and/or hiring managers consistently receive a strong flow of qualified candidates.
- Candidates move efficiently through the initial stages of the recruiting process.
- Applicant volume is effectively managed without sacrificing candidate quality.
- Open positions remain active and moving forward.
- Candidates receive timely and professional communication.
- Additional candidates are sourced when applicant volume is low
