This role directly contributes to improving reliability at scale, not just feature delivery.\nYou will work in a structured regional shift pattern to help provide 24/7 coverage as part of our first-line response model.\nOur Stack (experience in some is expected)\nLanguage: Java 21\nFrameworks: Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Cloud\nArchitecture: Microservices, REST APIs, Event-Driven Systems\nDatabases: MySQL, MyBatis, ShardingSphere, MongoDB\n Caching: Redis (AWS ElastiCache), Elasticsearch\nMessaging: RocketMQ\nCloud/Infra: Docker, Kubernetes, AWS\nObservability: Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, CloudWatch\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\nPlatform Engineering (Primary Focus Outside Duty Window)\nImprove observability across services (metrics, tracing, logging).\nDesign and enhance load testing frameworks and resiliency tooling.\nBuild reusable platform capabilities and internal libraries.\nIdentify recurring operational pain points and eliminate them permanently.\nContribute to standards that improve scalability and maintainability.\nParticipate in architecture discussions and technical reviews.\nLevel 1 Operational Duty (During Assigned Shift Window)\nParticipate in a defined regional shift pattern.\nProvide first-line incident response within your duty window.\nTriage alerts via Rootly and structured runbooks.\nExecute pre-approved mitigation steps.\nEscalate to product teams when required.\nEnsure clear documentation and handover between shifts.\nThis role does not own product incident resolution, but ensures structured and rapid triage.\nWhat You’ll Bring\n3+ years experience in backend engineering (Java/Spring preferred).\nExperience operating high-throughput production systems.\nStrong understanding of distributed systems and failure modes.\nExperience with observability tools and production diagnostics.\nUnderstanding of load testing and performance tuning.\nStrong SQL proficiency.\nExperience with containerised/cloud environments (Docker/K8s/AWS).\nAbility to work autonomously and follow structured operational protocols.\nClear written and verbal communication skills in English.\nPreferred:\nExperience building shared internal tooling or platform libraries.\nExperience participating in on-call or incident response rotations.\nWorking Pattern\nThis role operates within a defined regional shift structure to support 24/7 coverage.
