Account Managers are responsible for prospecting, communicating, quoting, developing, operating, and maintaining their customer accounts.\nResponsibilities:\nBUSINESS DEVELOPMENT: Understand prospective clients’ unique shipping requirements, and effectively manage a consistent sales pipeline through cold calls and consistent communication.\nCUSTOMER GROWTH: Design and execute a unique customer strategy for each account that provides continuous, profitable growth opportunities while honoring our commitment to never give back freight.\nRELATIONSHIPS: Serve as a consultative resource to customers regarding service offerings, market trends, industry standards, and effectively provide quotes considering all variable factors, proactively develop strategies and solutions that address each client’s unique challenges.\nFREIGHT OPERATIONS: Maintaining operational efficiencies for customer’s freight through; load building, scheduling, issue escalation, and capacity securement. Work with Carrier Sales to secure the best viable options; call carriers to get additional options and track when necessary.\nRESULTS: Achieve and exceed monthly sales margin and revenue expectations and ensure customer service levels and KPIs are met.\nCOMMUNICATION: Proactively communicate with customers to fulfill commitments, exceed service expectations, and investigate and facilitate the resolution of customer problems with shipment/deliveries.\nQualifications:\nBachelor's degree.\n2 years of sales and customer service experience required.\nKnowledge in the logistics industry preferred.\nSkills:\nAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet performance metrics.\nStrong negotiation skills - persuasiveness, aggressiveness, confidence, resilience.\nEntrepreneurial and competitive spirit, passion, self-motivation.\nOrganization and attention to detail.\nAdaptability, multi-tasking ability, sense of urgency.\nConfident decision-making skills, problem-solving ability, and issue resolution skills.\nAdditional Information:\n$45,000 base pay; potential commission within first year.\nThis is a non-exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act and, as such, is overtime eligible.\nOnsite 5 days a week - Indianapolis, Indiana.\nSpot is built on relationships, combining 24/7 support with a proven, passionate, and dedicated team of logistics professionals.
