You'll also create an environment where engineers can grow, collaborate, and make a meaningful impact.\nWhat You'll Do\nLead, support, and develop a team of data and backend engineers, creating an inclusive environment where everyone can contribute and grow.\n\nWork with product managers, business partners, and engineering teams to set priorities and build data products that improve the subscription experience.\n\nGuide the development of reliable, scalable data pipelines and backend services that support targeting, messaging, personalisation, and machine learning.\n\nHelp your team make informed technical decisions, balancing data quality, reliability, business needs, and long-term maintainability.\n\nSupport engineers through regular feedback, coaching, career development, and opportunities to share knowledge.\n\nCollaborate across teams to manage dependencies, solve challenges, and build shared data solutions.\n\nImprove engineering practices, including service reliability, sustainable on-call processes, and responsible data management.\n\nExplore opportunities to use AI and automation to simplify workflows, improve data quality, and support your team's work.\n\nWho You Are\nYou have experience leading data or backend engineering teams and enjoy helping engineers develop their skills and careers.\n\nYou have a background in software or data engineering and can guide technical discussions about data architecture, distributed systems, scalability, and reliability.\n\nYou understand how to balance team development, technical decisions, and delivery priorities to achieve meaningful results.\n\nYou have worked with large-scale data pipelines, data platforms, or backend services. Experience with technologies such as Google Cloud, BigQuery, Apache Beam, Dataflow, dbt, Flyte, Airflow, Scala, or Java is valuable.\n\nYou can navigate changing priorities, make informed decisions, and help your team move forward when the path isn't always clear.\n\nYou communicate clearly and build effective partnerships with product, business, and engineering teams to turn shared goals into practical solutions.\n\nYou value different perspectives, encourage open feedback, and help create an environment where people feel respected and supported.\n\nYou're curious about new technologies, including AI and automation, and enjoy finding ways to improve how teams work and deliver value.\n\nWhere You'll Be\nWe offer you the flexibility to work where you work best!
