Other duties may be assigned.\nA Lead’s primary function is to assist the supervisory staff of the branch. \nThe lead will provide leadership and supervision to associates in their area of responsibility as well as all associates.\nAssist in enabling the distribution center to fulfill its goals and the overall company mission.\nMaintain the company policies while communicating company goals and expectations. Primary responsibility is to oversee production in their assigned area, administer the training program of all new associates, to monitor and provide direction in their assigned area.\nReport to manager or supervisor in charge of their area and assume any additional responsibility assigned.\nExpectations\nTrain associates on efficient work methods and procedures\nDirect all production and quality control functions in their assigned area\nOversee associates with regard to daily production performance\nEnsure established volumes of production are met or surpassed daily\nDevelop and motivate associates and present direct supervisor with issues\nFocus attention and efforts to maximize profitability  Provide leadership in the absence of any supervisor\nQualifications\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nMust be pass the introductory period of 90 days\nGood communication skills, both verbal and written\nProblem-solving and analytical skills\nGood time management skills\nDaily interaction with warehouse personnel, office personnel, drivers, freight lines and customers as required.\nEducation/Experience:\nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nLanguage Ability:\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. \nAbility to write routine reports and correspondence. \nAbility to speak effectively before groups of employees.\nMath Ability:\nAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. \nAbility to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.\nReasoning Ability:\nAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.\nAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.\nComputer Skills:\nKnowledge of basic office (spreadsheet, word processing, e-mail) as well as inventory and warehouse management software. Knowledge of AS400 and PKMS is essential.\nWork Environment:\nThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.\nWhile performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.
